Of the 11,317 sold, this may be the most pristine one left. This Best of Show award winner will turn heads wherever it goes. With only 3 owners in nearly 50 years (original owner, his son, and me), this bike has been meticulously maintained by all 3 owners. After recently retiring, it is time to trade in my Bavarian beauty for something with an electric start. The bike has 26,742 miles, believed to be original, and runs well. Everything is original on the bike except the paint. The previous owners painted the bike so it is not the original BMW white. Numbers match on frame and motor. The bike kicks within 2 – 3 kicks and, with new carbs mounted in 2006, runs smoothly. Tires have 80% tread on them and the bike rides straight without pulling. 1978 BMW R100S with close to 35k milesthis a great bike that would make a nice addition for any collector, or a great daily driver or sport touring motorcycle.I just recently took it on a 600 mile trio through several state parks in southern Utah and he handled like a champ. plenty of power. I have had several other BMW airheads and this one is by far the smoothest and fastest. the speedometer stopped working when i purchased it and the previous owner said it was close to 32k miles I have replaced the original speedometer from one off a R100rt and everything works except the back light. it might just need a bulb.there are a few minor scratches on the lower right hand side of the motorcycle tank and some light cracks on the top of the fairing from being over tightened by the previous owner.the bike has custom mufflers that have been tuned beautifully and have a nice mean sound without being too loud, and they don't backfire!brand new AGM style battery that has tons of cca for turning the 1000cc engine overcomes with factory tire pump that is located under the seatboth hard bags and bracketsthe original seat has been upholstered in a nice black fabric and has 2 hidden storage compartments.tires are goodbrakes are goodoil was just changedand only has a small leak about the size of a penny on the ground if left sitting for a while.2016-07-05 04:52:24Las Vegas, Nevada, United States357,000.00 -

2006 BMW R1150R with hard cases (2006)
I bought this bike at Newmarket Motorad in October of 2010 and it had full servicing done on it then. It had 40687 kms when I bought it and now has just over 43300 on it. I bought an oil change kit including oil, filter, ring and wrench that comes with the bike. I have owners manual as well. I has BMW side hard bags that use the ignition key and a Kanna rear hard bag that has a separate key. All bags are removable. The one bag has a sticker that says "Old Guys Rule". The bike comes with two keys. Leo Vince slip on exhaust, I lowered the pegs since I am just over 6'1" and the handles bars were pushed back when I bought the back. It has a windshield that I meant to take off and heated grips for those cold mornings. Only premium fuel put in it and stabilizer in winters when stored in my heated garage. The thermometer on the bike said 4 degrees when it was minus 40 with wind chill outside. Side stand and center stand. A choke on it for colder mornings. Great riding bike for comfort and balance. Its a beautiful example of BMW engineering being naked showing off the engine. Any questions or offers can be emailed. I do prefer a sale somewhat close since I live north of Toronto, Ontario. This motorcycle needs to used. I have owned it 1988. It came from “Cue” at House of Triumph in Elmsford NY with 68,000 miles on the clock.. It has always been my second bike, lightly used and garaged. Weekend rides have added about 6000 miles. It now shows just over 74,000 miles. In the fall of 2011 it underwent substantial mechanical restoration at Max BMW (Brookfield Ct) which included rebuilding carburetors, draining and cleaning fuel tank, new brake pads and rotors at the front and new brake shoes at the rear, new center stand, air filters, new throttle and choke cables, new horns, new fluids (fork, brakes, new top-end seals. Now that your Christmas bills are paid off (at least, you would hope), you can start budgeting for your new Beemer, now that BMW Motorrad USA has released pricing information for the five newest models to its lineup, the R nineT, S1000R, R1200GS Adventure, K1600GTL Exclusive and R1200RT. Perhaps the most welcome news is the R nineT’s pricing at $14,900, making it just $800 more expensive than the R1200R‘s $14,100 price tag.

FIM to Revise WSBK Homologation Requirements
Fri, 17 Jan 2014The International Motorcycling Federation is considering modifying its homologation requirements for the World Superbike Championship following Bimota‘s somewhat surprising plans to re-enter the series. Under current regulations, manufacturers must produce a minimum number of motorcycles for it to be eligible to compete in the production-based WSBK championship. The official regulations currently require a minimum of 125 units produced for an initial homologation inspection, 500 units produced by June 30 of the current year, 1,000 units by the end of the current year and 2,000 units by the end of the following year.

This marks the third consecutive year of record sales, following the 106,358 motorcycles in 2012 and 104,286 motorcycles sold in 2011. We already knew BMW was going to have a banner year last month, when the German manufacturer passed its 2012 figures in just 11 months.
Liquid-Cooled 2015 BMW R1200R Spied
Fri, 10 Jan 2014German site MotorradOnline.de has published a spy photo of what appears to be a new liquid-cooled BMW R1200R prototype undergoing testing. The production model should arrive for the 2015 model year, with the official unveiling likely to take place at the Intermot show in Cologne in October. The spy photo shows the top of the test bike, with the engines, wheels and exhaust hidden behind a railing.
Kevin Ash, one year on
Wed, 08 Jan 2014I’ve lost dozens of friends in bike racing over the years, and while each death was a shock and incredibly sad, I’ve always had some kind of internal coping mechanism that allowed me to carry on relatively unaffected. Maybe it’s because I was always extremely passionate and committed when taking part in my dangerous sport so was also prepared to pay the ultimate price should things go wrong. Rightly or wrongly I’ve taken comfort from the fact that these unfortunate racers have checked out while doing something they love. I’ve also lost a few journalist friends in bike accidents over the years but for some reason these have hit me harder. The worst and possibly as it is the most recent is Kevin Ash who was killed last January while on a BMW launch in South Africa. Starting in 2001, over a period of ten years, I was in Kevin’s company on countless new bike launches in pretty much every corner of the world. At times he was cocky and occasionally irritating but always entertaining with a wicked sense of humour. He was many things but no one can deny he was a brilliant journalist and his technical knowledge was second to none. I always appreciated his complete enthusiasm to all things biking as he would ride through any weather on a daily basis to jobs or airports and seemed to always be tinkering with winter projects (mainly Ducatis) at home. I also admired how much work he got through as he had columns in more than one weekly publication plus all his launch and web work. He was a competent safe rider who was certainly quick enough to evaluate any new bike thrown his way. Kevin also drove a Porsche but then none of us are perfect! I looked to Kevin as a wise Owl so not long after I started working with TWO/ Visordown, I asked him on an R1 launch in Australia he thought the motorcycle industry was currently in a good place. His reply was, ‘we’ve just been flown here business class, been taken by speed boat to our five star hotel under Sydney Harbour Bridge, Yamaha have wined and dined us and furnished us with expensive gifts each day, what do you think Niall? How times have changed. On the subject on air travel he once told me, ‘when travelling business or first class it’s not about the pampering, comfy beds or fine dining, the important part is looking smug as you walk straight past all the people lining up at the cattle class check in! On more than one occasion I had food or drink spurt out when Kevin would deliver unexpected one line funnies at the dinner table.
