BMW R-Series description

This 1979 BMW R100 has had one long term California owner.  Retaining its original blue license plates, this motorcycle has been meticulously maintained from new.

The motorcycle is equipped with a special order police issue solo seat from Great Britain.  Dual disks on the front and a single disk on the rear - new master cylinder.  New westco battery, rebuilt carbs, tuned and sync'd, new valve covers, new valve cover gaskets, rebuilt petcocks, freshly powder coated snowflake wheels, new tires, new tubes, new handlebar switches.

The 1000cc motor pulls strong and smooth with incredible torque. Gear change is smooth and precise.

I have a complete set of panniers and chrome brackets available for the bike, these can be fitted at request.

Having just had a major service, this BMW is ready to ride anywhere, fly in - ride home.  This is a very handsome classic airhead.

Clear California title, registered and insured.

I can deliver anywhere in the USA for $500.

2010 BMW S1000RR – First Ride

Fri, 20 Nov 2009

UPDATE:  Full Review now on Motorcycle.com (with video) We just spent the day ripping it up around the fabulous Portimao race circuit in Portugal on BMW’s new S1000RR supersport literbike, and it’s set to blow away perceptions of what a BMW motorcycle is. With 193 crankshaft horsepower and a claimed dry weight of 404 pounds, BMW says the S1000RR has the best power-to-weight ratio of any production bike. And, by the way the S1000 lofts its front wheel onto Portimao’s front straight at 150 mph, we’re becoming believers!

European Parliament Makes ABS Mandatory, Tighten Emissions Standards by 2016

Wed, 21 Nov 2012

The European Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favor of new rules that would increase emission standards and make anti-lock braking systems mandatory for all new large motorcycles, scooters and trikes and quads by 2016. The new regulations, which would still need approval from European Union member states, may only directly affect Europe, but they will have a wide-reaching affect on manufacturers’ product development for other markets. BMW, for example, has already made ABS standard for all its motorcycles for 2013.

40,000 bikers to descend on Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Fri, 01 Jun 2012

40,000 bikers are expected to head to the Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen during the first week of July for the annual BMW Motorrad Days event and you can join them. Billed as a celebration of all things two-wheeled and BMW, the event gives you a chance to test ride all the current BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna models and see stunt-riding world champion Chris Pfeiffer and meet the BMW World Superbike riders. BMW have organised a UK rideout to the event and with over 200 places taken so far, time's running out to book your slot.
