The good: I've got a beautiful and rare 1959 R26 BMW up for sale that is an all triple matching serial number (363195) bike. It just had a ton of work done including a fresh top end motor rebuild and the transmission was also rebuild ($3,500 worth of work completed by Scottie's Workshop in Santa Clara, Ca.) A bunch of upgrades too like new handle bars, single side mirror, new exhaust pipe, Pagusa saddle style seat (comes with original twin seat as well!), some original tools included, upgraded timing chain guide (making the bike run quieter), points/plug, new main seal, new piston rings, emptied slingers, fresh fluids, cool black and yellow plate that reads "1959 BMW", lots of receipts, original owner's manual, everything works, runs great and have a clear title in hand. 1966 R69S BMW Stunning condition museum quality R69S BMW . Triple numbers matching. Excellent restoration quality and in top condition today. Beautiful bright chrome, newer tires, professionally polished aluminum. Great running and ready to go anywhere. The cosmetics are amazing as everything is exceptionally detailed. Great paint and pin stripping. The engine runs like new and has excellent compression. I believe the drive train is rebuilt but I don't have any documentation. The motor has no smoke on start up and while running sounds absolutely normal and healthy with that nice vintage BMW sound. Oil seals are good and bike is dry underneath. I would not be afraid to ride this bike coast to coast and having said that we have a commercial airport nearby so a buyer could fly in and drive out with the bike. The bike has some wear from saddle bags on the paint. It is light and hard to see but it is there on shock towers and lightly on the fenders by the shock towers. This is hard to see and you really have to look. There are a few minor chips in the paint that are also hard to notice. One chip is the earls swing arm another is the top of the fork coveror triple tree top plate. Gas tank and headlight bucket are great nice paint and no dents. Some battery acid stains on one exhaust. I am including a set of chrome passenger foot pegs as I lost one of the original passenger pegs from the bike. I am also including some correct fuel line which I bought and never installed. I bought it in 2011 to ride with my best pal on little trips to fly fish and drift aroung- he was a great guy rode a 750 Guzzi to Costa Rica in 1974 till it brokeWell he is gone and I am in failing health my self- cant ride it any moreIt was bought from SE Detroit BMW John knows the bike and has all the records. You are bidding on a 1976 BMW R75/6 motorcycle. I have owned this bike for 1 year. It had been previously owned by a local attorney who had it serviced, gas drained and parked it at the end of 2004. It had been sitting in a conditioned garage until I purchased it. It has a clean Indiana title. I checked all of the vitals, filled with fresh gas and installed a battery. The bike started and runs. I have not taken any of the components off of the motor, or done any type of internal inspection. I have ridden it about 15 miles. I did rebuild the front master cylinder which was leaking and it now works perfectly. I bought it as a project bike but decided to sell because of an out of state job transfer. There are some scratches in the paintwork and a couple small dents in the tank. The pictures tell the story. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like additional photos. Possibly the most dependable fun to ride bike that BMW made. It completely gone over by the BMW dealer in Grand Rapids. New battery new Master cyl, tuned up ready to ride. I would not be afraid to take this bike anywhere. I have put 100,000 miles on R65's starting in 1978 and never had a problem. I would not be selling this bike but I am disabled and have to move to a trike. The bike fell down at a gas station and the odometer broke. So, the mileage has to be listed as unknown It read 27,000 miles at that time and has not been used much since. delivery is on you but if you live in Michigan I will bring it to you for free, probably drive it if I can. Up for bidding is a 1973 BMW R60 / 5 motorcycle. This motorcycle was from an estate, found in the back of the garage covered by a mountain of bankets. Apparently, the bike was running well when last driven, sometime about 3-4 years ago. There is no battery, so we haven't tried to start it. The wheels roll freely, engine isn't frozen or anything, seems to have compression when kicking, there are no drips/leaks, tires are decent and hold air well, it does come with the keys. The title was issued to the owner in 1980, and he had it ever since. That's 36 years with the same owner, a buyers dream. The odometer reads 97671, and the BMW dealer sticker from the last oil change, on the inside rear fender, reads 97409. So, I believe the mileage is probably accurate, and there's no reason to think that the bike wouldn't still run fine. I can see that the right side cover is missing, but otherwise this bike looks to be pretty complete. It even has the original tool kit and users manual under the seat. All of the lights/lens are good, except for the tail light lens which has been slightly broken. The seat is in great shape, with no rips or tears. I took a lot of pictures, so that you'd get a good idea of the bikes overall condition. If you're looking at this bike, you know how rare these "Toasters" are becoming, as they only made them for a couple of years. I am listing the bike with a very reasonable starting price, well below current NADA blue book values for this model, and the high bidder will get to take this home. Looking at part prices for this bike, I would guess that one could even just part it out and make a tidy profit. In my opinion, this is not by any means just a parts bike. This should be given some tlc and ridden!! This is a NO RESERVE auction. I have 100% LIFETIME feedback as a seller, so no worries here. 2015 BMW S1000XR Spied – Inline-Four Multistrada Rival on the Way
Mon, 31 Mar 2014Spy photographers have captured a new BMW adventure-tourer powered by the S1000RR’s Inline-Four engine. The new model, which we expect will be called the 2015 BMW S1000XR, will be more road-oriented than the company’s bread-and-butter GS line, offering a competitor to the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 1200 or the recently reviewed Aprilia Caponord 1200. Other publications that have published the spy photos (Insella.it and MotorcyclistOnline for example) have put forward names such as S1000F or S1000 ADV for the new model, but a trademark application BMW filed with the USPTO suggests it may be introduced as the “S1000XR”.

The landmark liquid-cooled 2014 R1200GS follows a lineage half a million strong of flat-twin adventure tourers tracing back to the first R80G/S produced in 1980. “As a plant it is a privilege for us to continue building on the successful history of the legendary flat-twin GS,” says Marc Sielemann, head of the Berlin plant which produces the bulk of BMW’s motorcycles since 1969.
BMW “Persistent Erection” Lawsuit Dismissed
Tue, 18 Mar 2014The Superior Court of San Francisco has dismissed lawsuits against BMW and Corbin-Pacific Inc. brought on by a man who claimed a motorcycle ride gave him an erection that lasted for several months. The story made headlines and drew much ridicule after the man said vibrations from his 1993 BMW K1100RS and Corbin aftermarket seat resulted in a case of priapism, a condition in which a penis remains erect for a prolonged period of time.
BMW Recalls 4,453 Motorcycles and Scooters for Side Stand Switch Problem
Thu, 13 Mar 2014BMW has initiated a recall on several motorcycle and scooter models because of a problem with the side stand switches failing in wet conditions. The recall affects 4,453 vehicles from the 2013 model year including the C600 Sport and C650GT scooters, F700GS, F800GS, F800GS Adventure, F800GT, R1200R and R1200GS. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, water may enter the side stand switch on affected vehicles from riding in wet conditions or even from vigorous washing.

BMW Sets February Sales Record With 18.3% Growth

The German manufacturer reported sales of 8,098 motorcycles and scooters in February, an impressive 18.3% increase over the 6,847 units sold in the same month last year. The record February followed another record in January which saw a year-on-year increase of 12.9%.
