This "barn find" bike was originally an R80RT but the fairing and everything was too rough to waste time repairing. I cleaned this bike up, everything is running fine and I ride it to work most every day. I have too many other bike projects to keep this bike. 2004 BMW R1150R non-ABS oil head twin cylinder fuel injected six speed shaft driven motorcycle in good condition runs , rides , shifts just like it should the only thing that does not work is the horn .(and this riders knees) I am the second owner I got it in july this year from the original owner I gave $5500 for it. There is nothing wrong with it ( except for the horn) the problem is me, I sold my XR650L this spring because my knees would not allow me to throw a leg over it anymore (Too Tall ) so I bought this to replace it, But it's just a tad to heavy for the knees I'm afraid I'm going to drop it ( and myself ) when getting off it so before I destroy it I figured I'd try to sell it I know it's late in the season to sell so I'm pricing it to move so I don't have to store it this winter. BMW Announces Recall Campaign for K1600 Family Motorcycles
Fri, 25 Feb 2022The recall concerns all 2019-2020 BMW K1600 models due to the risk of rear suspension link failure caused by a manufacturing defect - the strength of the part does not meet the factory requirements. This linkage may be destroyed during normal road use, causing the rear of the motorcycle to fall onto the rear wheel. BMW dealers this spring will begin notifying owners of motorcycles that are subject of the recall campaign to visit an authorized dealership for a rear suspension linkage replacement.
