Bearings, seals, values/guides, valve adjusters, pistons, rings, crank balanced, decked (engine casing to cylinder barrel), hex bolts Less than 1,000 miles since rebuild. Trispark ignition, instruments refurbished by Nosinger, new carbs trued and SS sleeved by Lund, rebuilt master cylinder with stainless steel body, new front brake pads. Filmed by an MCN reader near Triumph’s Hinckley factory, the video quality isn’t very high, but we can see some details from the enhanced screenshot above (click to see a larger version). The most noticeable change is the placement of the exhaust.

Fri, 04 May 2012California-based aerospace company XCOR is using a Triumph Street Triple to test rocket components for a suborbital spacecraft. Of course, what immediately comes to mind is a giant rocket strapped on to the Triumph, but the truth is much less dramatic, yet still fascinating. XCOR is using the Street Triple for endurance testing of bearings components for the rocket propellant piston pump of the Lynx suborbital spacecraft.
