Triumph Trident description
Relisting due to non-payment... No reserve. I have some more pics if you want to send me a message. I bought this bike in pieces in Michigan 4 years ago or so. All of the parts are there for a full resto, but i started a hard tail project that's about 70% complete. Rebuilt engine: - Punched and honed cylinders - New pistons - Valve jorb - Tri-Spark electronic ignition The chrome on the engine cases was flaking and looked like shit, so i pulled it off and painted them black. Haven't started the engine since then, but I rode it after the new cylinders but before cleaning up the cases. It should just need to be oiled, hooked up and timed... which is a piece of cake with the Tri-Spark. New Pirelli tires with 0 miles on them. Powder coated frame and tank. New air box. Rebuilt the carbs, should still be balanced. New battery and coils. Needs: - All brakes - Finish exhaust system - Electrics (lights, signals, zener charger). - Throttle grip - A few 1/4-20s on the engine cases could use helicoils. - All the little stuff you don't think about probably. I love this bike, but i don't have a garage since moving to CA, so as much as I keep telling myself I'm going to finish it, it hasnt happened in these last 2 years... bike is stored in a climate controlled workshop. Also, it has Tennessee plates, so if you buy it in CA, you won't need to register it non-op while it's being worked on. |

Buddy Holly, Ariel Cyclone, 1958
Thu, 19 Apr 2012Above is some fantastic home movie footage of Buddy Holly and the Crickets messing around on motorbikes in 1958. The story behind the bikes in the video starts after Buddy Holly, Joe Mauldin and Jerry Allison came back from a successful tour in 1958, flush with cash. The trio decided to spend their rock and roll dollars on brand new motorcycles.

First Look: Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support
Tue, 02 Nov 2010I'm predominantly a road rider, so I haven't had much to do with neck braces, until now. I'm heading on the launch of the new Triumph Tiger 800 and there will be a session of light off-roading so I thought this would be a chance to try the Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support, mainly to see what it was like for day-to-day use. I hope I don't crash hard enough to test its protection qualities and I don't expect to be clearing any table tops either, but I'm curious to know how I get on with the BNS and whether it feels claustrophobic.
