The 650R retailed new for 600 dollars more than and L model. Some of the differences were the R model came with an aluminum frame, water cooled engine with 18% more horsepower than an XR650L. The 650R is almost 50 lbs. lighter than the XR650L. The XR650R was the bike that won the Baja 1000, 500, and 250. Do your research before buying. This bike is for sale locally. Sold as-is.
