Yamaha YZF description
This is the predecessor of the well known R1. Bike runs and shifts good with lots of power. Haven't really got a chance to open it up but there is always extra throttle leftover. This is 1 beefy bike that's super comfortable for you and a passenger whether its long distance or on the the strip. Never raced or stunted since I've owned the bike. New chain, new sprocket and new rear tire with receipts to prove it. I am looking to upgrade to something newer, My loss your gain. Can be a great start for street fighter, track bike, custom ride or kept as is. Could use rear brakes and maybe a fuse for turn signals. Clean green Michigan title also willing to include matching leather jacket with inner shell for $100..... $2400 O.B.O. Andrea Dovizioso Signs with Tech 3 Yamaha for 2012
Tue, 11 Oct 2011The Tech 3 MotoGP team has reached a one-year agreement with Andrea Dovizioso, signing the Repsol Honda factory rider to take Colin Edwards’ place on the Yamaha satellite team in the 2012 season. Dovizioso will join the Tech 3 Yamaha team after three years with the Repsol Honda team. Despite currently holding onto the third overall spot on the 2011 championship points standings with five podium appearances and 13 top-five finishes in 15 races, Dovizioso found himself the odd man out with Honda which will stick with a two-man factory team of Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa with Marco Simoncelli riding a factory-supported Honda RC212V with the Gresini team.
MotoGP Axes Claiming Rule and Adjusts Moto2 Engine Swap Fees
Wed, 03 Jul 2013The International Motorcycling Federation‘s Grand Prix Commission officially annulled MotoGP‘s Claiming Rule. Effective immediately, teams using the official spec Magneti Marelli ECU hardware and software are exempt from having their engines claimed. Starting in the 2014 season however, the claiming rule will be cancelled completely.
Lorenzo Signs Two-Year Extension with Yamaha
Thu, 07 Aug 2014Two-time MotoGP Champion Jorge Lorenzo has signed a contract extension with Yamaha to see him race on the company’s factory team through the 2016 season. The signing comes as no real surprise, following similar two-year contract extensions for teammate Valentino Rossi and Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa. Ducati also confirmed it would field Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone next season, so unless Lorenzo wanted to spend a season or two developing Suzuki‘s or Aprilia‘s new prototypes, Lorenzo’s only option for a factory ride was to re-sign with Yamaha.
