I call this a budget model because I kept the original alloy wheels, the front is a rear secs 18" converted to be able to run a fat 120/90/18 tire, the rear is stock with a 130/90/16.  Specs  tires, new kenda 130/90/16 and 120/90/18           Brakes new front and rear pads/shoes, new master, braided line, rebuilt caliper            Electrical, new xs650 switch controls, starter, 12cell antigravity lithium battery, new starter and modified bendix clip, New headlight, led tail light with integrated turn signals, bar end turn signals, horn, everything need to be legal           Carbs, New Sudco Mikuni VM34 carbs, I don't mess with wasting my time on the original carbs, these are a HUGE performance improvement.

    2007 Yamaha xv250 Virago/Vstar semi custom Up for bid is a very nice Yamaha Virago.  I have put many aftermarket parts on it.  She has a front pouch, tinted windshield, aftermarket mini turn signals, 10" mini ape hanger handlebars, aftermarket mirrors, I have had the gas tank repainted so it has a solid black cherry finish.  I have taken off the stock air filter pods and replaced with a hi flow cone style air filter. I replaced the stock pipes with West Eagle drag pipes so now it sounds like a real motorcycle.  Has that Harley rumble instead of the stock lawn mower sound.  I put black header wrap on the pipes so you won't immediately scald your leg if you touch the pipes.  Saddle bags with support brackets and lowered the passenger seat for a lower look.  The tires have lots of tread and I put a larger rear sprocket on for more top end speed.  It is a great starter or commuter bike that looks, runs and sounds great and gets 65-70 mpg.  My wife has no trouble keeping up with me on rides and it will do 75mph with me riding it and I'm 230lbs. Buyer can arrange for pickup or I have a local transportation company I can get quotes for you.

    First things first:  ATTENTION:  NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS OR FOLKS WITH 0 FEEDBACK; STOP WASTING REAL BIDDERS' AND MY TIME.  FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND, READ, RINSE, REPEAT.  Ok, for the rest of you: Low reserve 1995 Yamaha Virago 250, in great running shape, low miles.  Purchased in 2008 with 10,180 miles (actual mileage per the title), so I haven't put a lot of miles on it since purchasing.  The good: recently painted professionally in the past 2 years (was maroon, now black), replaced gears in the past year for better highway cruising and gas mileage, new chain has less than 200 miles on it, tires are in good shape, brakes work fine, no leaks in fork seals, starts right up, replaced aftermarket crappy turn signal lamps with replacement factory lamps that other motorists can actually see, mirrors also upgraded to versions that actually help the rider see what is behind them, battery recently replaced, recent oil change.  The bad: when moving the bike, my friend tried to lift the rear end by the luggage rack; no damage to the rear fender in doing so, but ripped out the nuts securing the rear of the rack from the fender.  Over the past few months, the area where the back of the rack is supposed to mount at the fender has accumulated some surface rust at the mount holes, but nothing significant.  No damage to the mounting holes otherwise; rear fender is straight and in solid shape.  As stated earlier, the brakes work just fine, but could probably use a brake job in the next 6 months or so, just an FYI.  Garage kept, but as it was used to begin with, and it was my daily commuter locally, there is the expected light surface rust on a couple of spots; nothing significant.  Never dropped since I have owned it, and I did not see any signs indicating as such when I purchased it.  Most of the chrome is in great shape overall.  It is an excellent starter bike, and has many miles left in it.  I hate to get rid of it, because it is excellent in town for errands and such; new gearing gets 70+ MPG.  However, it is time to sell.  Low reserve, great bike for a beginner rider (like I was when I bought it).  The previous owner drilled out the baffle in the exhaust pipe, so has a nice rumbling sound for a 250.  Please ask any questions prior to bidding; I have tried to provide as much info as I can think of, but you may have additional questions regarding stuff I didn't cover.  If you're local, you can easily ride it home.  As I purchased it in Miami, and had to ride it back to Tampa, I advise against a long ride on the interstate, as from my experience, you will have a hard time sitting down for a few days afterwards.  If you want it shipped, that's on your end; I would rather you picked it up, but I will be happy to work with you on shipping it; buyer is responsible for making that happen.  Good luck finding reasonable, reliable transportation for less that the reserve price.      This is my 1985 Yamaha Virago xv1000, its been garage kept, its very clean. I was told it has low compression in one cylinder and the carburetor leaks, I'm not a mechanic so I'm not exactly sure what all that means, I had a gas shot off put on it to keep the carburetor from dripping and otherwise have had no problems. It has some minor cosmetic damage on the exhaust pipes, and some of the chrome is "peeling", and a crack in the seat.

    What I have for sale here is a very nice 1982 Yamaha virago 750 full dresser.I have recently liquidated a delinquent storage facility,and this is one of the items from it.Bike is super nice condition for its age.Has very minor scuffs here and there from storage,nothing serious,could be rubbed out if ya want to.Looks like someone touched up the paint on the gas tank,but doesn't look bad.Brand new battery,oil change,and spark plugs.We just automatically did that,because it sat for around 5 years.Tires have good tread,slight dry rot on front from storage,but still rideable.Starts right up,no leaks,no smoke,no knocking.all keys to bags included,all function as they should.Turn signals and horn do not work,probably a fuse,we will not get that in depth.Starts right up,shifts throught the gears nicely,cruises right along at 55,sputters a little if you twist it wide open,nothing a little carb cleaner won't remedy,remember,it has been sitting a long time,needs to be ridden.I have clear title in hand,it denotes odometer discrepency,but I thik that might be a legal thing,having something to do with storage auction,but I don't know.The odometer and speedo work fine.Please call Bobby@ 440-231-6163 with all questions,first reasonable offer will be accepted. A three-time motocross champion in his native Holland, Karsmakers came to the United States to gain wider exposure and attract the attention of the Japanese motorcycle makers. “All the Japanese (sponsorship) contracts were going to Belgian riders,” Karsmakers said.

Yamaha Motor Europe has announced another variant on the MT-09 platform (FZ-09 for us in North America). Following the original model and the Street Rally comes the new Yamaha MT-09 Street Tracker. Unfortunately it looks like the Street Tracker will be a special edition variant only available in Europe, though many of the parts may be available in Yamaha’s part catalog.

45,367 Motorcycle Thefts Reported in US in 2013

Americans reported 45,367 stolen motorcycles in 2013, down 1.5% from 2012, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau‘s latest Motorcycle Theft and Recovery Report. According to the NICB motorcycle thefts have been on the decline every year since 2007 when 65,678 motorcycles were reported stolen, though the overall trend appears to be leveling off. Japanese motorcycles continue to be the most popular target for thieves.

Isle of Man TT 2014: Monster Supersport TT 2 Results

Michael Dunlop led from start to finish to win the second Supersport TT race, giving him 10 TT victories in his career, tying him with the likes of Giacomo Agostini. Dunlop also joins sidecar racer Robert Fisher, Ian Lougher and Stanley Woods with 10 wins apiece, all tied for seventh overall on the all-time wins list. Riding his MD Racing Honda CBR600RR, Dunlop got off to a strong start, recording a time of 17:55.817 on the opening lap, giving him a 4.6-second advantage over fellow Honda rider Bruce Anstey.

Gary Johnson narrowly beat out Bruce Anstey to take the first of two Supersport races at the 2014 Isle of Man TT. Riding the Daytona 675, Johnson’s win was the first for Triumph since 2003, ironically, with Anstey taking the victory that year in the Junior 600cc class. The race started three hours behind schedule due to fog, but once it began it quickly became a duel between Johnson and Anstey.

Harrison, along with passenger Mike Aylott won the first of two Sure Sidecar TT races. The win was the first for Harrison since he made his Isle of Man TT debut 21 years ago in 1993.
