Norton Commando description

Original Paint, 13k orig miles, very nice. Genuine Dunstall mufflers. Clear title can be purchased and shipped world wide.

1975 Norton mk3 electric start roadster.  Original Paint and Original 13k miles.  In beautiful untouched shape original tool kit, mirror air box Union keys etc..  Clear title can be shipped Global.

This is a Minnesota motorcycle sold by Wheels Unlimited, it is in very nice original condition.  This is a 1 owner bike (changed hands between family members).  Paint is original, estart works, even has the Union keys for the seat lock and ignition.  Switch gear and dash board all original.

Highlights:

- 1975 mk3 roadster stored properly most of it's life.  It was last registered in 1981.

- MATCHING NUMBERS Frame, Engine, Transmission

- Starts easily and runs strong, no smoke, shifts through the gears

- Original tool kit

- Original plastic tool tray under seat

- Original frame tag mostly unfaded

- Original Union keys

- Electrics Work (Dash lights, blinkers, horn, brake lights)

- Original Paint

- Original side stand and center stand

- Original USA bars

- Original airbox

- Original auto advance and points plate (boyer installed 2 months back)

- Original Grab rail and frame decals

- No broken engine fins or issues

- 2 new tires - Dunlop k81's installed last week.  Prior tires were original made in England tires and dry rotted unsafe

Recent service included 2 new tires, boyer ignition installed, front master cylinder rebuilt, fresh fluids, including fork oil, valves adjusted, head torqued, Carb clean and rebuild, clutch clean and adjust.  Bike starts and sounds mean and pulls hard through the gears.  It has not been leaking at all since tune, not saying it will not drip here and there but it is not currently.

The Bad:

- Speedo works and mileage accrues both trip and miles but the needle gets wonky for speed.  It didn't bother me and I didn't want to mess with an original bike.

- Bike condition is different for different people you be the judge look at the photos etc., you will find chrome pits and chips and rust and dirt expected with a 40 year old unrestored bike.

This bike is rare, original and has a special MN history being here still, and from a local dealership.  This bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for any reason.  This bike runs and goes down the road as it should, it is 40 years old so there is no warranty expressed or implied.  The bike can be inspected in person for serious buyers in the Minneapolis area.  I will work on my end to meet and prep the bike for shipping but all shipping charges are the buyers responsibility.  The title is clear and this bike can leave the country without any issues.

Happy 50th Hizzy

Wed, 11 Jan 2012

On the 11th January 1962, Steve Hislop was born in Hawick, Scotland. Today would have been his 50th birthday, but he was tragically killed in a helicopter accident in 2003. Hizzy was a genius on a motorbike and when he was happy with everything around him, he was amongst the best in the world.

Bonhams Auctions 1966 Norton Manx For $100K

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

The top selling model of Bonhams annual sale of collectors’ motorcycles, a 1966 Norton 350cc Manx prepared by legendary tuner Francis Beart and raced by Joe Dunphy and Keith Heckles, fetched a whopping $100,481 last Sunday. The auction price more than doubled the top selling estimate and set a new world record for a Manx sold at auction. Eighty percent of the 436 lots offered sold at the auction totaling $2,168,314 Hot on its heels came the technological marvel from an earlier era that produced the sale’s best result when the 250cc Moto Morini Grand Prix racer from the 1960s fetched $145,081. The Molnar Norton Manx, prepared and entered by Fred Walmsley for the late World Champion Barry Sheene,  sold for $89,490.
