Kawasaki KLR description

This dual-sport motorcycle has been an absolute joy riding it! Unfortunately, I simply don't have the time to ride it (hence the low mileage).  In fact, the only miles on the bike are commuting miles on country roads; I've also unfortunately never taken it off-road, as it's designed for.  Upgraded SARGENT seat, ZERO-GRAVITY windshield, and will include the ICON tank bag shown in pictures.  Will also include original windshield and seat in the shipment.  This is a can't-beat purchase--great price for what you're receiving and purchasing from someone who in no way ever abused the bike.

Engine Type: Four-stroke, DOHC, four-valve single Displacement: 651 cc Bore and Stroke: 100.0 x 83.0 mm Cooling: LiquidCompression Ratio: 9.8:1 Fuel System: Keihin CVK40 Ignition: Fully transistorized Front Suspension: 41 mm telescopic fork; Travel: 7.9 in. Front Brakes: Single 280 mm petal-type disc, two-piston caliper Front Tire: 90/90x21 Rear Suspension:UNI-TRAK single-shock system with 5-way preload and stepless rebound damping; Travel: 7.3 in. Rear Brakes: Single 240 mm disc, single-piston caliper Rear Tire: 130/80x17 Dry Weight: 432 lbs Fuel Capacity: 6.1 gal. Wheelbase: 58.3 in. Seat Height: 35.0 in. Trail: 4.4 in. Rake: 28 Transmission: Five-speed Final Drive: Chain Speedometer: Standard Tachometer:Standard Odometer:

If you have any questions regarding the bike, please shoot me a note and I'll be sure to answer in a timely manner.  Bike is sold as-is (although I've never had an issue with it).  Bike runs like a gem and wish I had the time to keep riding it!  Thanks!

Kawasaki Issues Recall on Unauthorized Concours 14 Police Models

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Kawasaki announced a recall on 44 2012-2013 Concours 14 potentially faulty motorcycles allegedly converted for police use without the manufacturer’s consent. Back in early 2012, Kawasaki announced a recall on 278 2009-2012 Concours 14 police motorcycles because the add-on equipment installed by Idaho-based Beaudry Motors suffered electrical problems. According to the recall documents, the electrical system installed by Beaudry could overload the charging circuit between the regulator and the two batteries and eventually blow the main fuse.

WSBK: 2012 Magny-Cours Results – Championship Decided by Half a Point

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

You would think carrying a 30.5 point lead into the final round of the 2012 World Superbike Championship would be a safe enough margin to win the title. Aprilia‘s Max Biaggi made it interesting, inexplicably crashing out of the first race at the finale in Magny-C0urs before scoring a fifth place finish in Race Two to give him a 0.5 point margin over Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes to win the title. The 358 to 357.5 point difference is the narrowest finish ever in WSBK.
