this great example of the most desirable year INDIAN CHIEF it is numbers correct!! I purchased this off a friends uncle , he purchased it in 1970 road it for awhile and then had it restored 25 years ago ( i don't think they had any Chinese repo parts then) it was all original then ( body ,engine /frame/ front end ) see numbers below .when it was purchase in 1970 .It was what we call , survivor condition . It still looks in show condition as it was kept in a climate controlled environment ridden once in awhile and has been in my personal collection !! but its time to go as Hurricane Matthew got a little close for comfort so i decided to let a few of my prize possessions go ? Ace Motorcycle Predecessor to Indian Four

This old adage has never been more accurate than when describing a rare collection of motorcycle drawings from 1919 that were recently found in a trash bin. Created in 1919 by William Henderson, a man considered by many to be America’s most impressive motorcycle designer, this rare collection of original drawings depict the design of a brand known as the Ace, which later became part of the Indian Motorcycle Co.
Indian recalls 'rebel' motorcycles
Thu, 19 Apr 20183,341 bikes fell under the service action. The New World has announced a recall of Indians released from October 25, 2016 to November 17, 2017. The problem is that the switch is corroded, which can cause the engine to start unintentionally if the key fob is close to the motorcycle.
New Indian Thunder Stroke 111 Engine in “Spirit of Munro” Streamliner
Mon, 11 Mar 2013To mark the unveiling of its new Thunder Stroke 111 engine, Indian Motorcycle revealed a custom-built streamliner motorcycle dubbed the “Spirit of Munro“, equipped with the new Indian engine. The “Spirit of Munro” is a tribute to the Munro Special, the 1920 Indian scout that set a new land-speed record in 1967 at the Bonneville Salt Flats for under-1000cc motorcycles. The Munro Special was famously depicted in the 2005 film “The World’s Fastest Indian“, starring Anthony Hopkins.
