New BMW World Superbike recruit, Marco Melandri has been using the Bavarian manufacturer's connection to Husqvarna to get himself a nice new motocross bike for the off-season. Melandri has been riding the Husky TC250 in preparation for the 2012 season, whilst the winter testing ban was in effect. Husqvarna Names Robert Jonas Head Of Motorsport

Effective immediately, Husqvarna Motorcycles has named 39 year-old, Robert Jonas as Head of Motorsport. He will be responsible for all of Husqvarna’s racing activities, including Motocross, Enduro, Extreme Enduro, and Moto3 road racing programs. As a former motocross racer Robert Jonas has been involved in motorcycle racing for much of his life.

Husqvarna 701 gets new engine

At the last year’s presentation of the model in Portugal, none of the Husqvarna fans could really answer the question why the old 690 cc Kateem LC4 engine is used on the 701st Husk, while the 690 Duke has an already upgraded one. It took only a year to correct the mistake. The new engine of both versions of the Husqvarna 701 is absolutely identical to what is being installed on the 690 Duke from this year.
