2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report

Today the motorcycle press descended upon the Long Beach Convention Center to attend media day at the annual International Motorcycle Show. After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. Official Sketches of 900cc Husqvarna Streetbike

Husqvarna has released these official drawings of its upcoming streetbike. Best known for its off-road models, Husqvarna seems to be taking a page from parent company BMW in teasing its new on-road model, first by releasing details about the engine, and now with these sketches. The drawings reveal a naked road bike with a supermoto influence not too far from Husqvarna’s usual style.

EICMA 2012: Introducing the Brutus, the Two-Wheeled SUV

You’d be forgiven if you thought the motorcycle pictured here was a Husqvarna on steroids. No, despite the red and white colors and Husky’s recent reputation for showcasing surprising concept models at EICMA (such as the Mille 3 in 2010 and the Baja at this year’s show), the bike shown here is an all new model called the Brutus from a company called Over. Designed by Alessandro Tartarini, formerly Lambretta designer and son of the founder of Italian motorcycle company Italjet, the Brutus is a pre-production concept that has been described as being a two-wheeled SUV.
