BSA Rocket III description

First this is killing me to put this up for sale but a move into a new house forces this sale. Most of you already know what you are looking at and how rare they are. The spares manual that came with this bike calls out all the chrome parts on this bike as available from the dealer and by the patina of the parts and bike they have the same age indicating to me they where installed on the bike as new ether by the dealer to help sell it your ordered by the customer. They where available in the spare parts manual from the dealer. I have had this BSA running on a blast of starter fluid in each cylinder. The carbs are off and they have been completely rebuilt with new slides. Yes the idle passages where carefully cleaned for those guys that know.... Floats where also set by pressing the seats into position. The ignition light comes on with the new battery in place. Condensers have been replace and spark and compression on all cylinders. I needed to order the intake boots to put the carbs back on if I had those and they are easy to get I could have the carbs back on in minutes. The gas tank is in great shape it does need the inside cleaned. The rear rim was powered coat by the original owner that I bought it from. New stainless rims go with the bike I didn't have time to lace them yet. The head light is all there just needs new glass to put back on again easy to get as well. This bike is very close to running ... hate this. I was going to get it running and riding well then go for cleaning it up here and there but really I like the old look. Do not bid if you don't have a PayPal account you need it for the down payment. I will Also consider letting the buy use PayPal for complete payment if the buyer covers the fees. Please!! no low feed back bidders. Serious buyer only!     Deposit due in two days full payment in 7 days.

What’s Old Is New Again – Video

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

There’s something distinctly cool about old British motorcycles. From the wire wheels, the minimal bodywork, and the exposed engines which give off a thunderous bark, I’ve always loved looking at old Triumphs, BSAs and the like from the 60s.  I’ve never owned one though. The reason is simple: old British bikes are needy little maintenance machines notorious for the odd oil leak.
