BSA 1937 BSA 500 Sports - Empire Star tech info
BSA 1937 BSA 500 Sports - Empire Star description
I’m listing this machine for a good friend who’s not very computer savvy..
In reality, with engine number HM22, this is a "Sports" in Empire Star clothing. The machine is in fabulous condition having been restored to a very high standard by the previous owner almost 15 years ago. Having said that - the inside of the fuel tank could use a re-coat. The only deviation from standard trim on this one is the previous owner’s fitment of a non-standard, heavy duty spring for the front forks (he was a pretty heavy guy and rode the machine).
Consider this one to be a “good rider” that will need to be
re-commissioned before being pressed back into service. You can see the
complete hi-resolution photoset HERE and a short video presentation HERE. . Located in the Toronto, Ontario,Canada region.

Man Builds Sidecar from Bathtub
Thu, 23 Apr 2009Back in 1997, an unusual motorcycle appeared on the front page of the Bristol Evening Post. Unable to afford a costly traditional sidecar, bus driver Alan Iles of Bedminster opted to build his own, using a bathtub. Twelve years later, the 1959 650cc BSA is still going and has been ridden all over Europe to help raise money for Cancer research and various charities, for which he has raised thousands of British pounds.
What’s Old Is New Again – Video
Mon, 14 Oct 2013There’s something distinctly cool about old British motorcycles. From the wire wheels, the minimal bodywork, and the exposed engines which give off a thunderous bark, I’ve always loved looking at old Triumphs, BSAs and the like from the 60s. I’ve never owned one though. The reason is simple: old British bikes are needy little maintenance machines notorious for the odd oil leak.
The Steve McQueen Desert Racer
Tue, 24 Mar 2009There are few motorcycle icons within pop culture that have endured as vividly as that of the late, great Steve McQueen. A man who was at one time the highest paid actor in Hollywood, he avoided the limelight in favor of immersing himself within his passion for motorcycles. Never afraid of getting dirty, McQueen was at his happiest flogging a bike around the track with fellow racers or tinkering with the machines himself.
