THIS HAD A GENERIC LUFTMIESTER FARING THAT WAS IN LESS THAN DESIREABLE CONDITION SO THAT HAS BEEN TOSSED.. YOU WILL NEED TO SOURCE THE LAMP PORTION OF THE HEADLITE AS WELL AS THE TURN SIGNALS. **** STARTER HAD BEEN REPLACED WHEN WE PICKED IT UP BUT,, EITHER THE RELAY NEEDS REPLACED OR YOU WILL NEED TO LOOK INTO THE STARTER BUTTON SWITCH AT HANDLE BAR. I HAVE ACTIVATED STARTER AT THE RELAY TERMINAL TO SUCCESSFULLY START BIKE.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, CLUTCH DIS-ENGAGES, GEARBOX SEQUENCES AS DESIGNED. HORN , TURN SIGNALS/LAMP AT REAR WORK AS WELL AS DASH LIGHTS.. OFFERED, THE CLASSIC TOASTER TANK BMW. THIS BIKE SHOWS HIGH MILAGE BUT HAS HAD ENGINE WORK DONE 15 YEARS AGO AS TOLD TO ME THE THE OWNER. MOST NOTABLY WAS THE VALVE SEAT RETROFIT ALONG WITH OTHER TOP END WORK.. THIS MOTORCYCLE LOOKS GREAT & RUNS THE SAME.. THE COLOR IS A PETROL BLUE REMINISENT OF THE FIRST 100RS BIKES.. CHROME PANELS & SIDE COVERS ARE VERY NICE.. THE PIN STRIPES ARE BURIED BENEATH THE CLEAR COAT....... THIS BIKE WAS STORED FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS EFFECTIVELY BUT WAS STARTED AND USED WHEN THE OWNERS VACATIONED FROM GERMANY.. ////// IT IS MISSING THE KICK START LEVER FOR SOME REASON. // THE TURNSIGNALS MAY OR MAYNOT BE CORRECT... BMW Announces Recall Campaign for K1600 Family Motorcycles
Fri, 25 Feb 2022The recall concerns all 2019-2020 BMW K1600 models due to the risk of rear suspension link failure caused by a manufacturing defect - the strength of the part does not meet the factory requirements. This linkage may be destroyed during normal road use, causing the rear of the motorcycle to fall onto the rear wheel. BMW dealers this spring will begin notifying owners of motorcycles that are subject of the recall campaign to visit an authorized dealership for a rear suspension linkage replacement.
