This beautiful BMW boxer twin motorcycle is one of those manufactured in Berlin, Germany by BMW in 1972. The /5 "airhead" models are air cooled, four stroke, opposed twin, boxer engine hemispherical combustion chambers. Rust free, well cared for, always garage kept motorcycle looking for an owner that appreciates an asset that will continue to gain value. This 44 year old airhead is more than a classic and ready to roll for many years to come. Included with this motorcycle that I received as a gift from my father in law is a brand new R60/5 clutch disc. This motorcycle starts great however I'm not a motorcycle expert and I don't ride like I said it's a gift. This motorcycle is SOLD AS IS! BMW Announces Trophy for Privateer Racers
Fri, 02 May 2014BMW announced a new competition for privateer racers competing worldwide. Private road racers competing on BMW’s S1000RR or HP4 sportbikes in 15 different series worldwide will earn points based on their results, with the top privateer at the end of the year winning the BMW Motorrad Race Trophy. The trophy represents BMW’s new philosophy towards motorcycle racing which began with the official withdrawal of factory support in the World Superbike Championship.
EICMA 2012: BMW F800GT Announced as Replacement for F800ST
Tue, 13 Nov 2012As we reported in August, BMW is replacing its F800ST sport tourer with a new, more touring-oriented version called the F800GT. Revealed at the 2012 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy, the 2013 BMW F800ST is equipped with a 798cc parallel Twin engine claiming 88 hp at 8000rpm, an increase from the BMW F800ST’s claim of 84 hp at 8000rpm (the 2012 F700GS and F800GS also claims 84hp from a similar engine.) Other changes include better wind protection, lighter wheels, new higher-mounted handlebars, repositioned footrests, and load capacity increased to 456 pounds from 432 pounds. Like all current BMW motorcycles, the F800GT comes standard with ABS.
BMW Makes ABS Standard Across Entire Lineup
Tue, 03 Jul 2012BMW announced it will make anti-lock brakes standard equipment across its entire lineup starting with the 2013 model year. The German manufacturer became the first to introduce ABS into serial production motorcycles in 1988 and now 25 years later, BMW will be the first to offer ABS across all of its models. BMW has already announced two 2013 models that will come with ABS, the updated F800GS and the F700GS.
