WSBK 2012: Assen Results
Mon, 23 Apr 2012The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. BMW Concept Ninety Stars at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2013
Mon, 27 May 2013The annual Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este usually features some of the world’s most beautiful classic cars, but this year’s show had a special exhibit celebrating the 90th anniversary of BMW Motorrad. More than 6,000 people visited the BMW Group-organized Concorso d’Eleganza on the shore of Italy’s Lake Como. The BMW Motorrad exhibit featured some of the company’s most notable motorcycles spanning 90 years of history including the original BMW R32 that started it all in 1923.
BMW and Husqvarna to Unveil Concept Models at Frankfurt Auto Show
Fri, 02 Sep 2011BMW will unveil an electric scooter concept model and an entry level Husqvarna streetbike concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. The BMW concept, shown in the teaser sketch above, will likely be a version of the E-Scooter electric maxiscooter concept announced in July. BMW claimed the E-Scooter’s liquid-cooled electric motor offers performance similar to a 600cc combustion engine, while the battery casing itself will form the body of the frame.
