This 2005 BMW K1200LT is in excellent condition. The bike has only 2043 miles on it and the tires are in great shape. The K1200LT combines luxury car features with the irreplaceable experience of BMW motorcycle riding. It has been designed for high performance journeys over seemingly endless lengths of roads. This bike has the following upgrades, add ons and features... heated seats, heated grips, electrical center stand, fully adjustable passenger pegs (up/down & front/back), j style highway pegs, Z Technik V Stream extra wide and extra tall windshield (which is electrically adjustable), cruise control, reverse gear, map light under dash, vanity light in top case (with mirror), wind deflectors and a CD player plus CD changer in bag. The bike also comes with 2 keys with fobs, owners manual and several other books (see photos) and the tool kit. The only blemish on this bike are some marks on both side bag trim (can be seen in photos). Other than that this bike is in great condition. Again it has only 2043 miles on it so the bike is basically brand new. This bike has all the comfort you could want for hitting the open road and not looking back. FIM to Revise WSBK Homologation Requirements

The International Motorcycling Federation is considering modifying its homologation requirements for the World Superbike Championship following Bimota‘s somewhat surprising plans to re-enter the series. Under current regulations, manufacturers must produce a minimum number of motorcycles for it to be eligible to compete in the production-based WSBK championship. The official regulations currently require a minimum of 125 units produced for an initial homologation inspection, 500 units produced by June 30 of the current year, 1,000 units by the end of the current year and 2,000 units by the end of the following year.

IIHS Asks NHTSA to Make ABS Brakes Mandatory for All Street-legal Motorcycles in US

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Highway Loss Data Institute have submitted a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration petitioning in favor of making anti-lock brakes mandatory for all new on-highway motorcycles. The letter, addressed to David Strickland, NHTSA administrator, included a recent IIHS study on the effects of ABS on motorcycle fatal crash rates. The report found ABS technology reduces the rate of fatal crashes by 31%, while collision claim rates were 20% lower with ABS-equipped motorcycles.

BMW Concept Ninety Marks Motorrad’s 90th Anniversary and 40 Years of BMW R90S

BMW revealed a new concept to mark the company’s 90th year in the motorcycle business while also paying tribute to a classic: the BMW R90S. (UPDATED with video.) The product of a collaboration between the BMW Motorrad Design studio and Roland Sands Designs, the BMW Concept Ninety will be displayed alongside other classic BMW motorcycles at the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, May 24-26 in Italy. The Concept Ninety carries many styling cues from the R90S, BMW’s classic superbike.
