BMW K-Series description

Super nice 2003 BMW K1200GT

This is a beautiful bike. The BMW engineering and combination of power, torque and balance make riding this bike a thrill and heads above most other motorcycle manufacturers. Rated at 130 HP with 4 cylinders, shaft drive and dual disk brakes this bike is very smooth and fast, but stops on a dime, straight and true. The troublesome ABS modular has already been removed and reconfigured to a standard braking system. Many motorcycle experts have rated this first generation K1200GT as one of the best sport touring bikes ever made.

We picked this bike up from a gentleman who had been transferred overseas and couldn't take the bike with him. He kept the bike in very good condition, with only minor scratches and dings, too small to show up in the photos. It runs great and looks great. The bike has cruise control, electronic windshield control and heated grips, but the heated seat has been disconnected. The tires are in good condition with good tread.

In addition to the matching pannier side bags, the bike comes with a trunk case, a soft tank bag, a ventilated cover, tool kit and owner's manual.

This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION with the opening bid set below NADA wholesale. Someone is going to get a great deal on a this super bike.

A $250 deposit will be due by Pay Pal within 24 hours after the end of the auction. Full payment must be received within 7 days by certified check or bank transfer. Buyer is responsible for shipping if needed or you could fly in and ride this bike home.

Responses to recent questions:

What type of tires are on the bike?
Response: The bike has Metzeler Roadtec Z8 tires with plenty of tread left.

Can you certify that the mileage is correct?
Response: No, we were unable to get any owner history or service records on the bike, so we can not confirm that the mileage is correct.

Has the motorcycle been serviced lately?
Response: Yes, we changed the oil and filter when we brought it a month or six weeks ago, installing Royal Purple Max Cycle and a K&N Filter, like we use on all of our bikes.  The overall good condition of this bike combined with the fact that the old oil was relatively new, was an indication to us that this bike has been well cared for.

Milan Show: Moto2 tried and tested

Tue, 02 Nov 2010

The insanity of Moto2 doesn't seem like the right home for the elegance of the Rizoma brand. But the Rizoma ProGuard system has helped secure the levers of Toni Elias on his road to championship success in the inaugural Moto2 season. The example above was on an attractive Rizoma-enhanced BMW S1000RR, but the lever guards are not limited to sports bikes, they were also visible on Yamaha's FZ8.  The patented design can tilt up to 10 degrees providing full lever coverage and can be added by simply replacing the bike's existing bar-ends.

Charge Up you iPhone While You Ride

Fri, 12 Feb 2010

Motorcyclists can now enjoy total freedom on the open road confident in the knowledge that their cell phones, GPS, MP3 players and latest generation of iPhone/iTouch devices will remain fully-charged and in-service for the duration of the ride thanks to Powerlet’s plug and play systems. “Our product line was inspired by personal experience and the realization that there were no worthwhile options for clean, reliable on-board power for cell phones, stereos and GPS devices,” says Powerlet Products founder Adam Bonislawaski. “Before we came on to the scene, riders would bust out the black tape and wire strippers and cut into their bike’s fragile wiring to tie-in a cheap cigar lighter to power their devices.
