1985 Kawasaki GPZ900 Ninja Top Gun Bike 14k Miles Just Serviced

Just in time for the 30th anniversary of the 1986 movie “Top Gun”, I am pleased to offer this 1985 Kawasaki GPZ900 Ninja “Top Gun” replica bike. This GPZ900 Ninja has been torn down and rebuilt to resemble the bike that Tom Cruise rode in “Top Gun.” VIN # is JKAZX2A1XFB510580 and mileage is 14,047 +/-.

The previous owner owned the bike for 3 years and did a ton of work to rebuild this bike to excellent condition. In particular:

– New chain

– New rear sprocket

– New brake disc (rotor)

– New belts

– New air box

– Rebuilt carb

– Maintained coolant system

– New radiator

– New front and rear wheel bearings

– Tires replaced approx. 3 years ago with limited usage (excellent shape)

– Took the bike down to the frame and then painted and rebuilt it

– Clear title in hand

Work just done in June 2016:

– Cleaned and synced the carbs ($350)

– Re-welded a bracket on the front for the fairing ($300)

– Overall assessment of the bike from the mechanic is that the bike is very smooth and in excellent condition. Mechanic is available and willing to discuss the quality of the bike is requested.

The bike is so realistic as a “Top Gun” replica that it was featured at a Maryland Casino that was running a promotion for “Top Gun” during the month of May 2016 (see pictures).

Bike starts fine and goes thru the gears nicely. Lots of new items added (see above). Original Kawasaki script is not included. Miscellaneous stickers have been added to resemble the Top Gun scheme but these can easily be removed.

Known Issues:

– Missing the horn button and horn (replacements available on ebay for reasonable money)

– Seat has some stains and wear which have been touched up but are noticeable

– Screen on the dash where the neutral light is has a small crack in it. Doesn’t affect the function of the lights

– Missing the locking mechanism for the right side helmet lock

Vehicle Condition

This is my personal bike so I have photographed this Ninja personally. Bike is in very nice condition with some minor flaws as expected for a bike of this vintage. It is not a pristine show bike however, it drives great and turns heads everywhere.
