1967 R50/2
BMW – totally rebuilt by Brooks Motor Works One of the finest long distance road bikes ever made.
Totally gone over by Kevin Brooks, of Brooks Motor Works in Olympia, WA - one
of the finest BMW wrenches around. Kevin owns Bonneville speed records for
making the traditionally slow yet over-engineered motorcycles go much faster
without sacrificing the reliability that makes BMW the state-of-the-touring art
choice for those who know. The following is what Kevin did to "Hans".
I am selling with great regret as Hans was my trusty steed prepared to take me
on a cross-country trip a couple of years ago, yet family health issues changed
everything at the last minute. Hans has been in the family for over 30 years.
Now he needs a new family. So be it... ...Hans has only been ridden an est. 500 miles since the extensive upgrades from Kevin. $1200: Cylinder Heads include: 4 new Black Diamond valves, 4
new valve seats, Both spark plug holes converted to aluminum threads - no
inserts, All new springs with new lower collars and titanium upper spring
retainers, 4 custom guides with grooves for stem seals (also provided) of high
nickel content using Ampco© 45. Heads are re-surfaced, bead blasted, and look
like new. These heads are actually better than new spec and are compatible with
unleaded fuels. Visually, they are exactly the same. New 1K ohm original Beru
