Up for auction is a Lil Indian vintage mini bike, it appears to be the BLAZ-R model. Based on my research there were not a lot of these models made. The frame is stamped 7 - 70 and the serial number stamped on it is 23380. A Google search of the BLAZ-R turned up a nice picture of the original sales brochure. I have also posted a video below showing the mini bike running. I did take the chain off for the video so I could rev the bike up and not have it take off on me!

                                              
The frame was media blasted and re-painted with automotive base coat clear coat paint 1968 Corvette Blue. New fork triple trees bushings were installed so there is no slop in the area. New heavy duty wheel bearings, tires and tubes were also installed. As were Hunt Wild foot peg rubbers, grips, throttle and cable. Additional new items include the chain, fork spring, heavy duty fiberglass clutch cover, max torque clutch and rear sprocket. Extra bearing added in center hole on rear sprocket for more strength and support. The bike never came from the factory with fenders and I do not believe it ever had a kickstand on it. Of course a kickstand could most likely be added using the engine mount bolt underneath the bike.

Bike has a new seat, round aluminum gas tank and petcock. I liked the look of the round tank better than the original plastic square tank. Engine is a Tecumseh HS-40, it has been torn down and inspected. The cylinder is in very nice shape. So it received a new Tecumseh piston and rings (standard). New Tecumseh connecting rod, all new seals and gaskets, new Tecumseh service carburetor (not an aftermarket carb) and air filter. Carb may need to be adjusted based on your altitude. Runs great here in the high desert. Although not new it has the nice vintage Tecumseh exhaust pipe that itself is hard to find as well as the nice original Lil Indian 4" wheels.

The engine has a good amount of compression so I have found it easiest if you put your foot on the top of the rear tire to keep it down when pulling it over as it is a small bike. Engine starts easy cold if you just slightly crack the throttle and easily when warm with just a pull. It was driven up and down the street for testing and all is OK. With an adult on it the bike started to gain speed pretty quickly. Remember this is a 46 year old vintage machine pretty much for a collector as it is a rare piece of the Lil Indian history.

The best part is they pick up the bike our location and deliver right to your door. Of course there are many other options available as well, including jumping in your truck and picking up the bike from us in Tucson!
