This 1975 Can-Am 250 TNT comes from a shop filled with older 2-Stroke bikes that the owner has been collecting for over 20 years. Most of the bikes were purchased and rolled into the collection with the thought of a complete restoration someday in the near future, but most often were left to collect dust under a cover until recently.

When it was new, the Canadian built Can-Am 250 TNT (VIN# 5861000930) was state of the art. The short stroke, rotary valve inducted, oil-injected two-stroke was produced by Rotax in Austria for Can-Am and cranked out a then astounding 29 horsepower at the rear wheel through its five-speed close-ratio tranny. They had the power of an MX bike with the smoothness of Rotary Valve engine and it blew people away to see a street legal bike out running some MX'ers in the day at the time were no dual purpose bikes that had any power at all.

The bike appears to be pretty complete with some minor issues cause by decades of storage. The speedometer reads 308 miles but that does not necessarily make it accurate. I kicked the engine through just once and it turned over smoothly. I do not know when the last time it ran and it would seem to make good sense to go through everything before entertaining starting or riding the bike. A lot of elbow grease is going to have strong results. The bike is not represented from any source other then what can be observed by looking at it and pushing the kick starter through. It could have a 2-piece broken crank and be in need of serious work or it could start instantly. IT IS SOLD AS IS with no suggestion of operating condition.
