Single sided chain adjustment

Wed, 14 Apr 2010

We don’t get the manuals with our long term bikes and I didn’t want swallow my pride and ask triumph how to adjust the chain on the Speed Triple.

For the life of me I couldn’t figure it out. The single side swing arm with centrally mounted disk is a work of art but how the hell you are supposed to adjust the thing?

Some considerable search of the web later and bingo, there’s a hidden sprocket type thing behind the main sprocket, which is what the C Spanner in the tool kit is for!!! Nice.

All you need to do is loosen that big bolt, spanner the sprocket round and tighten the bolt up again. How easy is that? Gone are the days of farting around with little spanners and massive torque wrenches.

Happy days.
