Roland Sands-Built Ducati Desmosedici Dirt Tracker For Sale

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

For sale on Ebay right now is this controversial 2008 Ducati Desmosedici. The exact one Roland Sands turned into a dirt track racer as a very special one-off project for a friend in 2011. The “Desmo Tracker” as it’s called, is a fully road legal motorcycle featuring nothing but top-shelf parts and world-class attention to detail, as one would expect from a RSD custom.

No modifications were made to the engine or electronics because, really, there’s more than enough power available. But not much else of the original Desmo exists other than the frame and engine. RSD designed and built a custom fuel tank, subframe, seat, rear fender, single-sided swingarm and front number plate.

FMF hand fabricated the titanium exhaust, Race Tech supplied custom triple clamps and RSD supplied the custom 19-inch dirt track wheels. Brakes are Brembo units and suspension is from Ohlins. The starting bid is set at $50,000, with an undisclosed reserve set for the bike, and considering this is the only one of its kind in the world, don’t even bother trying to lowball.

If you’re a serious buyer, visit the Ebay auction page to place a bid or contact the seller. While you’re there, get the complete specs and history on the Desmo Tracker, including the seller’s reason for parting with this gem.
