New MV Agusta Dragster 800 Spied Testing

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

This latest spy photo of the much hyped MV Agusta Dragster 800 was taken by an Italian motorist and first revealed by Italian site, motoblog.it. In it are some clear details about what the Dragster 800 is — and isn’t.

From this photo, the Dragster 800 looks largely like the Brutale 800 it shares much of its components from. As we’ve reported earlier, the Dragster 800 will share the same 123 hp triple cylinder engine seen in the Brutale, Rivale, and Turismo Veloce. ABS will likely come standard, as will a host of electronic rider aids, including EAS (Electronically Assisted Shift), MV’s nomenclature for “quickshifter.”

The front half of the Dragster looks almost identical to the Brutale, save for what appears to be handlebar-mounted mirrors, but move rearward and some differences become more noticeable. First off is the stubby tail section, which looks so small it likely isn’t suitable for anyone but children. From there we see the single-sided swingarm, beefy rear tire, and rear hugger/license plate holder. While the bike in the photo is a white/matte grey color, it’s a safe bet the Dragster will also come in the standard MV red.

Keep it here as we’ll report more details about the MV Agusta Dragster 800 as we get it.
