Kawasaki Celebrates 30 Years Of Ninjas With Anniversary Model ZX-6Rs

Tue, 06 May 2014

In 1985 Ronald Reagan is President, Back To The Future is a box office smash, New Coke is introduced and so is Kawasaki’s first 600cc Ninja sportbike. Thirty years later we’re still riding Ninjas but, thankfully, drinking original recipe Coca-Cola. For 2015, Kawasaki celebrates three decades of Ninja models with a 30th Anniversary Ninja ZX-6R and Ninja ZX-6R ABS.

The 30th Anniversary Ninja models will be recognizable by their Lime Green/Pearl Stardust White paint, with green pinstripe decals on the wheels, and 30th Anniversary badges. Standard 6R Ninjas will be available in one color, Metallic Matte Carbon Gray/Flat Ebony.

Ninja ZX-6Rs feature class-leading technology including Selectable Engine Power Modes, Three-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), F.C.C. clutch with assist and slipper functions, Showa Separate Function Big Piston Fork (SFF-BP) and Nissin one-piece monobloc radial-mount front brake calipers and radial-pump front brake master cylinder. The ZX-6R ABS Ninja is, obviously, the anti-lock-brakes version.

MSRPs for the 2015 ZX-6R Ninjas are $11,699 and $11,999 for the standard 6R and 30th Anniversary Edition, respectively, and $12,699/$12,999 for the standard ABS and 30th Anniversary Edition ABS models, respectively.
