2014 Honda NC750S, NC750X May be Heading to Canada

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

We were disappointed when American Honda announced it would offer the NC700X in 2014 the very same day its parent company revealed the NC model line was getting upgraded to 750 in other markets. It was bad enough Americans only got the adventure-styled X version and not the NC700S naked standard or Integra scooter in Europe, but for 2014, American Honda will continue offering the 670cc model instead of the new 745cc version.

Canada may be another story however, as Honda Canada’s website has pages set up for both the NC750X and NC750S. Honda Canada hasn’t officially confirmed it will offer the 750s, as both pages are listed on its “future models” page as 2014 models. The Integra however is not mentioned anywhere.

It may just be a matter of time however before the two new 745cc models are officially confirmed by Honda Canada. The “future models” page also includes the new Valkyrie (Honda Canada’s calling it the GL1800C Valkyrie) and the CTX1300 (officially called the CTX1300T in Canada) and the CBR1000RR SP which are all expected for the 2014 model year.

With the 75cc increase, the NC750 models get a second balancer shaft to negate the increased vibration of a larger engine bore. Honda claims a peak output of 54 hp and 50 ft-lb. from the 745cc engine compared to 51 hp and 45 ft-lb. on the 670cc powerplant.

Other updates for the 750s include taller gearing and new exhaust pipes. In Europe, the NC750 models get updated software for their dual clutch transmissions, but Honda Canada does not appear to be planning on offering the DCT versions for 2014 (nor did it offer DCT on the 2012 or 2013 models of the NC700S and NC700X). Combined ABS will be standard equipment however.
