2012 Yamaha YZ250F Announced

Thu, 09 Jun 2011

Yamaha revealed its 2012 YZ250F motocross bike with a number of updates.

The 2012 Yamaha YZ250F gets several engine refinements including a new 39mm carburetor, compared to the 2011 version’s 37mm carb. The piston and piston pin are said to be lighter, while the connecting rod and counterbalancer are also new. Yamaha says the YZ250F has been optimized to produce more power from 8000 to 12,000 rpm. The new exhaust system has been designed to meet 94dB sound limits.

The 250′s bilateral beam frame has been tweaked, promising increased performance on corner exits and added stability on rough straights.

The front fork has also been tweaked for added torsional rigidity while both front and rear suspension have been optimized for the new frame.

The 2012 Yamaha YZ250F will be offered in two color options, Yamaha Blue and White or White and Red.
