Yamaha YZF-R description

2014 Yamaha YZF R1, excellent condition, only 930 miles, I bought this bike new in November 2015, it has been sitting inside my garage most of this time. Awesome bike to ride. The following mods have been done to elevate the ridding experience further:

  • Custom MotoGP style single exhaust (reduced weight by 16.5 lbs! and no more annoying heat cooking the rider!)
  • Custom dyno tuned ECU by MRP Motorsports(factory speed governor removed, power limiters removed, fuel/ignition mapped for exhaust, O2 delete and PAIR delete)
  • AFAM Superlite 16/47T sprockets(power delivery is awesome, eliminated 1st gear chatter)
  • DID ERV3 520 chain(best chain in my opinion)
  • Zero Gravity Corsa windscreen(crystal clear visibility and much better high speed wind protection)
  • Driven billet aluminum PAIR/smog valve block off
  • Woodcraft Racing billet aluminum adjustable rear sets(with functional brake sensor and custom vibration damper for exhaust pipe)
  • Woodcraft Racing aluminum swing arm spool
  • Billet aluminum adjustable brake and clutch level
  • Suspension adjusted to be very compliant over bumps and easy to ride
  • Flush mount amber color LED front turn signals
  • Custom rear license plate bracket with integrated amber color LED rear turn signals
  • Custom rear brake fluid bracket
  • Rear foot pegs delete(with the LED's and custom brackets the look is streamlined and racy)
Total weight reduction is 23.45 lbs! The handing and acceleration is vastly improved from weight reduction alone!

Motor oil is fresh(was changed at 100, 400, and then at 900 miles) Brake fluid is also fresh. My profession is a Porsche mechanic and of course I am obsessed with mechanical maintenance. Have spare key and owner's manual.

Extras included: workshop manual on CD, stock titanium exhaust, stock front & rear turn signals, stock rear sets, stock rear foot pegs. And also include front and rear Pitbull stands(shown in photos)! And Pitbull front lift! And 4 bottles of synthetic motor oil for oil change! DB killer for exhaust and 2 extra seats(these are modified stock seats at 1" height increment, the medium height seat is on the bike).

I have been riding sportbikes for a long time, had a lot of different bikes over the years, this R1 is definitely the sum of all I want from a sportsbike with the very specific mods I've done. It is just brilliant to ride. I am selling because I don't enjoy riding as much as I once did. I will use the money from the sale to finish my car project.
This bike deserves a more spirited rider than I.

Located in Baltimore, Maryland.  Clean title in hand. Buyer responsible for vehicle transport. Feel free to call me about the bike. 410-353-7190.

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

MotoVentures, the long-running (since 1998) dirt bike riding instruction company is changing its name from simply MotoVentures to the more descriptive Dirt First by MotoVentures. The new moniker more appropriately describes the company’s training activities and philosophy about the best way to learn how to ride a motorcycle begins in the dirt. “Our Dirt First training curriculum is very practical with no ceiling or limitations,” says MotoVentures President, Gary LaPlante. ”Our highly qualified, well-trained instructors are capable of teaching everyone from kids to adults and beginners to experts.

Yamaha Motiv – A Car From The Tuning Fork Company

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

According to reports from the Tokyo Motor Show Yamaha has announced preliminary plans to produce the Motiv, a lightweight, two-seater similar to a Smart car. The Motiv is apparently based on Gordon Murray Design‘s T25 and T27 concept cars and will apparently use Murray’s iStream assembly process. Sources say the vehicle is targeted for the European market and will be available in both electric as well as fossil fuel versions.

Yamaha Champions Riding School August Update

Tue, 05 Aug 2014

Our friends at the Yamaha Champions Riding School have been busy lately. Since moving to New Jersey Motorsports park in April, traffic has steadily risen, with June being sold out and July not far behind. August is very promising with some new ideas (one-day clinics to bring a more economical program to a larger group of riders) being inserted into the mix as well as a normal two-day school at the end of the month, which is already 80% full thanks to the yearly visit from the engineering department of Harley Davidson. Following August YCRS will have two schools the week directly after the AMA Pro races at NJMP.
