Yamaha XT description

1978 Yamaha XT 500 in great shape- bike has new spokes and tires and a new battier and a new top end on the bike-and runs like the beast that it is . This bike was the bad boy from the day and is a great bike to drive to the trail and go anywhere. Bike has been gone over and needs nothing buy a driver. If you are looking at this bike you already know why they called it the thumper is a blast to drive on the back roads to  the trails. It draws a lot of attention everywhere I have gone on the bike. If you are looking for one of these this is the one low miles -and I would say the bike probably has not seen a trail. This vintage bike will do noting but go up in value-it was the bike of the day for off road riding. Any questions please call Shawn Davis 423-956-3002 Thanks for looking.

Yamaha Champions Riding School Returns To NJMP

Fri, 24 Jan 2014

Good news for those saddened to hear the Yamaha Champions Riding School would not return to Miller Motorsports Park in 2014: the school is back, now operating from New Jersey Motorsports Park. The change in venue doesn’t come without a slight change in the instructor lineup. Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill will still lead the way, joined by Mr. Daytona himself, Scott Russell, but a new addition to the star-studded instructor lineup has also been added: none other than Larry Pegram.

The horrendous reality of restoring a 'classic'

Tue, 31 Aug 2010

It was with much excitement – displaced or not – that my freshly rebuilt 1976 SR500 Yamaha fired into life at the second kick this weekend. I say second kick. It was actually the thirty second kick – thirty of those spent frothing up a heady sweat until I realised the main fuel pipe was kinked to buggery.

MotoGP to Re-Visit Rookie Rule

Tue, 19 Jun 2012

MotoGP organizers are re-opening discussion for the series’ rookie rule which prevents new riders from entering the series with factory teams. Introduced following the 2009 MotoGP season, the rule was designed to give satellite teams the chance to field young up-and-coming talents  they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to sign. The theory was the rule would protect the satellite teams and spread out the talent pool.
