Yamaha XS description

Up for auction is a vintage survivor 1978 Yamaha XS750E standard model with Yamaha Touring package (Pacifico Fairing, Engine Guards, Fiberglass Saddle Bags, Luggage Carrier and Back Rest) in excellent condition (clean-no rust and mechanically sound drivetrain). I purchased this bike from elderly gentleman (original owner) who bought it new from San Jose Yamaha in 1978 (he now lives in Michigan). He babied it all its life (heated garage kept, all maintenance by the book, etc). When I bought it he signed over the original California title.

Description:

Bike is completely stock as it came from the dealer. I have owned bike for 2 years and is kept in a heated garage - currently19,340 miles on it (will change a little as I go for ride on weekends). Clear Michigan title. Included are: owners manual, stock tool kit and repair manual. Replaced tires as they were old. Dealer installed a new set of tires/tubes (<1,000 miles on them). Good Battery. Gas Tank clean inside (no rust). Bike had sticky brakes so I renewed (caliper seal kits, pads, pistons) the front and back disk brakes. Front brake pads sqeak a bit first braking if sits for a week. A little anti-sqeak grease to reverse side of pads (winter project) will eliminate. Installed new set of plugs after I purchased it. Bike runs great, everything works and is ready to go. Would be hard to find a cleaner standard XS750e than this one. Does have left front fork seal beginning to leak. I have a new set but have not installed yet (winter project). That being said, it is a 35 year old bike and does not have a warranty - it is sold as is. All in all a beautiful preserved example of a Yamaha classic. If you are not sure about something or have other questions, please ask (donâ€?t assume)! If close enough, you are welcome to personally inspect the bike. Contact me to arrange a day/time.

Payment/Shipping Terms:

Winning bidder should contact me regarding payment and make a $250 paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction end. Full payment in cash within 7 days of auction end if picking up the bike in person. If using a shipper: as an example the last bike I sold on Ebay the buyer made the shipping arrangements, mailed a certified cashiers check to me and I released bike to shipper and mailed the title by certified mail after check clearing. That worked pretty well.

United States bidders only.

Thanks for looking

Update on noisy front brakes - had some time tonight so I removed/inspected front brake pads. They were new installed when I bought bike and have put about 700 or 800 miles on it since then. Upon inspection found them glazed mirror like finish. Must not have seated the new pads properly. Roughed up each pad surface and seems to have solved the issue.

Bike now has 19,346 on it - took for a short ride after work today to verify running good w/no issues (other than left fork seal). Started right up, choke for a minute and take off runs smooth. Idles at 1200 after warm up. Front brakes don't make any noise now when stopping. Based on this ride, no other issues to disclose - nice running bike.

Couple of other items I thought would be useful info: the entire engine/trans is tight/no leaks - never have seen any drips on the garage floor the 2 years I have owned it. Also one spare oil filter is included in the sale.
