This is my 1985 Yamaha rz350 Kenny Roberts model. It's in great shape and runs perfect. As you can see it has some appearance modifications. I purchased the bike like this from the previous owner. It turns heads everywhere I take it. The oil injection has been disabled so you have to mix your own gas. The previous owner was afraid of injection unit failure. The horn and turn signals all work. Temp gauge and speedometer work. The Tach does NOT work and the needle is broke off. True milage is unknown because the gauge cluster has been replaced. It says that on the clear Ohio title. It also has a small repaired crack in the lower fairing which you can't see unless you are ground level. The intake boots have very subtle stress marks on them but are not cracked and still usuabe for now. The right side mirror has some adhesive repair holding it on. I have put about 500 miles on it this summer with no issues at all. Runs perfect. Starts 2nd or third kick when cold. 1st kick when warm. I hate to sell it but I have too many toys. There aren't too many of these around anymore so get it while you can. I have disclosed any known issues with the bike in this description. If you have any questions before bidding please send me an eBay messege, and I'll give you my number and we can talk about the bike. I can also text videos of it running if wanted. If you are the winning bid, pickup arrangements would have to be made on a Sunday or early in the morning on other days. I am willing to meet up to about 75 miles of Salem, OH if needed. Thanks! Yamaha Reports Q1 2012 Results
Mon, 14 May 2012Yamaha reported a 5.3% decrease in worldwide motorcycle sales over the first quarter of 2012 despite a 25% increase in North American sales. In the quarter ended March 31, 2012, Yamaha sold 1.599 million motorcycles worldwide, down from 1.689 million motorcycles sold over the same quarter in 2011. Most of the decline was due to Yamaha’s performance in the Asian market.
MotoGP to Re-Visit Rookie Rule
Tue, 19 Jun 2012MotoGP organizers are re-opening discussion for the series’ rookie rule which prevents new riders from entering the series with factory teams. Introduced following the 2009 MotoGP season, the rule was designed to give satellite teams the chance to field young up-and-coming talents they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to sign. The theory was the rule would protect the satellite teams and spread out the talent pool.
Official: Rossi Leaving Ducati for Yamaha Return
Fri, 10 Aug 2012In a pair of carefully-timed press releases, Ducati announced it will part ways with MotoGP star Valentino Rossi at the end of the season and Yamaha announced it has signed Rossi to a two-year contract. The arrangement had been in the works for some time now and the two manufacturers had reportedly wanted to wait until Aug. 15 to make their announcements.
