Nice original 1976 Yamaha RD400 up for grabs. This RD is in pretty good shape for its age. The original paint looks nice! The tank has a small nicks and is not perfect, but overall the body work still looks really good on this one! According to the previous owner, The bike was drained of fluids and put away sometime in the 1980's, where it sat until recently. The clutch feels good, and the bike shifts through all the gears. The motor kicks over with plenty of compression. Brakes do not currently work, will need fluid added. Would suggest a full tune up before attempting to start the bike, and it would be best to make sure there is adequate oil and in the motor. The chrome is in excellent shape, and seat is in good shape as well. **One thing I did notice was that the steering stem bearings are shot and will need to be replaced. The bike has a clean and clear title ready to transfer. I have the turn signal that is not pictured as well. Please examine pictures closely! Overall , this is a nice original bike that shouldn't take much at all to get going down the road. Bike can be stored for up to 30 days after sale. $500 Deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours. Yamaha Confirms Leaning Multi-Wheeler for 2014 – Will the Tesseract Concept Finally Become Reality?
Wed, 03 Jul 2013Yamaha confirmed it plans to introduce a new Leaning Multi-Wheeler (LMW) vehicle for 2014. An accompanying image of a test unit in camouflage reveals two closely-aligned front wheels beneath a broad fairing. The new model will be a three-wheeler similar to Piaggio‘s MP3 scooter instead of the four wheels like the Tesseract concept (pictured further below) first introduced at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show.
Q3 2013 US Motorcycle Sales Results
Fri, 01 Nov 2013Motorcycle and scooter sales in the U.S. in 2013 remain consistent with last year’s figures, according to data released by the Motorcycle Industry Council. Several manufacturers blamed poor weather for the poor start this year, and the rebounding sales in the third quarter helped to negate the slow sales from earlier in the year.
3J’s Charity Track Day Raises $30k
Fri, 02 May 2014Since 2003, 3J’s Motorcycle Track Days have generated nearly $450,000 for charity. This year, the event’s 20th annual, 3J’s raised more than $30,000 for Speedway Children’s Charities. Nearly 120 riders converged on Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California for a day of riding around the 12-turn, 2.28-mile road course.
