Yamaha Other description

Up for auction is a very nice 1985 Yamaha FJ600N sport bike in excellent condition. I'm the second owner of this motorcycle and I can tell you it's been very well maintained, garage kept and clean.

Yamaha only made the FJ600 for two years, 1984 and 1985. This was the very first model sport bike offered in the USA with an engine alignment of inline 4 cylinders with a total cubic inch displacement over 550cc. There were a very limited number of these motorcycles brought to the US at the time. These are becoming increasingly rare as is finding this model bike in this condition.

This bike has been kept completely stock with the only change being the air filters. I removed the stock air box and replaced it with K&N air pods. Upon doing so, the carbs were re-jetted with main jets and slow jets two sizes larger from stock. This really opened up the motor and fixed the cold starting problem these bikes have. She starts and runs awesome every time.

The bike was repainted years ago back to stock colors and the original Yamaha decals were put back on. Many small items have been fixed or replaced over the years to keep the bike as stock as possible. I've always run Mobile 1 full synthetic since I've owned it. The chain was replaced two years ago as were the tires. Brake pads were also replaced aprox. 1,000 miles ago, both front and rear. Clutch is strong, shows no signs of slippage. New battery installed last year.

***MILEAGE SHOWN AS OF TODAY. THE BIKE IS RIDEN OCCASIONALY AND IT WILL CHANGE****

Some known issues:

- Neutral light stays on all the time

- Small exhaust leak where the header meets the pipes, smokes a little at that spot when the engine is warm

- Cracked right rear-view mirror

- Rear sprocket rusted

- Lower cowling cracked and repaired

- Rear tire shows a little dry-rot on the sidewalls, lots of tread on both tires

- Overall signs of its age; scuffs, chips in the paint, paint on the motor faded, a few rusty screws here and there. There is NO major damage or missing parts.

I have the title in my hands. I will not allow test rides by minors or unlicensed riders. I will not deliver this bike unless you live in my hometown. Arrangements for delivery must be made by the buyer. I will assist in any way I can. I also reserve the right to end this auction at any time as the bike is also listed for sale locally.

I DO NOT offer any warranty of any kind on this purchase. It is YOUR responsibility to know what you are buying and you take full responsibility for your purchase when the deal is closed. I will not refund your money for any reason or accept a return on this purchase unless the motorcycle is not exactly as I've described it. By bidding on this auction you accept these terms.

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED!!!!!

Finding sponsors for U.S. racing might be next to impossible, but this isn’t the case elsewhere, as Movistar, a telecommunications arm of Spanish company Telefonica, has signed on to be the title sponsor for the Factory Yamaha MotoGP team for the next five years. Short of the 20-year relationship between Honda and Repsol, this comes as one of the more significant sponsorship deals in recent memory.
