1979 Yamaha SR500r – Incredible Original Condition
Current California registration with original blue and yellow license plate. 3560 original miles. The bike has always been stored indoors and is in impeccable condition. As you can see from the photos, the bike is like new and is in no way ‘tidied up’ for sale. There is no rust, dents or other damage hidden. All decals, paint and seat are in perfect condition. The bike starts on the first kick (once you get the hang of starting an SR) and runs like a top. New tires, new MotoBatt sealed battery and the rubber seal on the gas tank is the only work I have done after purchasing the bike from a friend last year. A set of brake pads, full carb rebuild kit and other parts will be included in the sale. A full set of related documents will come with the bike including original sale brochure, owner’s manual and a Clymer service manual plus a second original Yamaha key. This may well be the very best original example of an SR500r out there and it is ready to placed in any showroom worldwide. Hope you like it and good luck!!! NZ Superbike Series Points Leader Is A Grandfather Of Three!
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Dennis Charlett is stamping his authority on the New Zealand Superbike championship. The 45 year-old father of five and grandfather of three (no, those aren’t typos) won the first three races of the season during the series opener in Christchurch, placing him firmly at the top of the points standings heading into round two at Levels Raceway, near Timaru. The championship favorite certainly got the wake-up call as Taupo’s Suzuki rider Scott Moir raced to a convincing win in Saturday’s Superbike race, while Charlett was forced to settle for fourth place.

Yamaha Files Trademark Application for FJ-09
Mon, 03 Mar 2014Yamaha‘s next three-cylinder motorcycle may be a sport-tourer, if a recently-filed trademark application is any indication. The Tuning Fork brand filed a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the name “FJ-09” as it applies to “Motorcycles, scooters, three-wheeled scooters and structural parts for all the aforesaid goods.” Following Yamaha’s usual naming conventions, the signs indicate the trademark will be for a new sport-touring model using the same Triple as the FZ-09. Yamaha has made it clear it plans to introduce more three-cylinder engines following the FZ-09 (or MT-09, as it is known in Europe.) Previously-filed trademark applications for the YZF-R3 and R3 names raised speculation the next triple would be a sportbike, but as per Yamaha’s usual naming convention, the “3″ in R3 is likelier to refer to the engine displacement rather than the number of cylinders.
