Yamaha Other description

HERE GO’S, THIS IS A 1977 RD 400 YAMAHA. VIN NUMBER  1A1-300266.  I “INHERITED” THIS CYCLE FROM THE ELDERLY GENT THAT BOUGHT IT ON AUGUST 9, 1979. HE PURCHASED IT WITH 845 MILES ON IT. THE CYCLE HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT EVERY SINCE. IT NOW HAS 3091 MILES ON IT. IT IS NOT PERFECT BUT HAS TO BE AS CLOSE AS YOU WILL EVER FIND. I HAVE NOT WASHED THE RD, IT IS AS I GOT IT. A GOOD DETAILING WOULD  REALLY MAKE IT SHINE.  THE TANK HAS NO RUST INSIDE, IT HAS A PENCIL SIZE PAINT CHIP HAS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES. THE SEAT IS AS NEW, TIRES WERE REPLACED SEVERAL YEARS AGO- THEY LOOK NEW WITH NO DRY ROT CRACKS. ALL LIGHTS AND GAUGES WORK AS SHOULD. THERE IS SURFACE RUST ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FRAME AROUND THE CHAIN GUARD. I THINK IT COULD BE SANDED AND PAINTED WITH MINIMUM EFFORT. THE LEFT EXHAUST PIPE HAS SOME CHROME PITTING ON THE TOP. THE REST IS AS NEW BASED ON A 36 YEAR OLD CYCLE. NOTHING IS AFTERMARKET. THE ORIGINAL CABLE TIES ARE STILL ON THE HANDLE BARS. THE TOOL KIT IS NEW AND IN PLACE. NOW FOR THE MOTOR… IT HAD NOT BEEN RUN FOR YEARS. I TOOK THE LEFT CARBURETOR OFF AND REMOVED THE BOWL. IT TRULY LOOKED BRAND NEW WITH NO FUEL GUM UP OF ANY KIND. I PUT IT BACK ON THE BIKE. PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY, DRAINED THE FUEL AND REFILLED. I TURNED THE KEY ON, CHOKED IT AND IT CRANKED ON THE FIRST KICK—I DON’T BELIEVE IT EITHER. I RODE THE BIKE AROUND THE NEIGHBOR HOOD AND TOOK THE PICTURES.  NOW FOR THE SHIPPING- I WILL TIE DOWN TO A PALLET AND LOAD ONTO A TRUCK FOR $25.00 (COST OF TIE-DOWNS). I AM IN HUNTSVILLE AL 35806. YES YOU CAN COME AND GET IT AFTER IT HAS BEEN PAID FOR. I HAVE THE TITLE IN HAND. I AM NOT GOING TO HAGGLE AFTER THE SALE. IF YOU DON’T WANT IT THEN PLEASE DON’T BID. I WILL DONATE TO THE ALABAMA MOTORSPORTS HALL OF FAME IN TALLADEGA BEFORE I GIVE IT AWAY. EMAIL OR CALL WITH QUESTIONS. I WILL ANSWER THE BEST I CAN.  I CAN ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS ON THE PHONE.  EMAIL  movingit@yahoo.com   tele- 256.574.9008

WSBK 2013: Moscow Race Report

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Marco Melandri captured his third win of the season, the Ducati 1199 Panigale scored its first podium while Sylvain Guintoli regained the championship lead despite dislocating his collarbone days before the race. But the big news at Moscow Raceway of course was the tragic death of Andrea Antonelli in the World Supersport race. The opening-lap crash in severely wet conditions naturally led to the cancellation of the rest of the events as the World Superbike community mourns the loss of the 25-year-old Antonelli.

2014 AMA Supercross – Phoenix Results

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

Kawasaki‘s Ryan Villopoto nabbed a hard-earned first victory of the 2014 AMA Supercross season, overcoming a poor start that saw him ninth after the first lap for the win. The three-time reigning champion found himself well back after the first corner as Yoshimura Suzuki‘s Jake Moss took the holeshot ahead of Yamaha‘s Justin Brayton and the KTM‘s Ryan Dungey. Brayton took over the lead by the second corner and would stay in front for the first 13 laps.
