Yamaha Other description

This 1973 Yamaha 250 DT2, Enduro, is running great. The bike is in original, un-restored condition. Some dents, rust and missing a few parts. But it's sure got character!
Six months ago, it was a non running bike that had sat for a long time, covered in a garage. I bought it! It had some "issues".

First I checked the gas tank. It had been sealed once but the coating was peeling, and getting rusty. Time for some professional help!!  So... I sent the tank to Bill at Elizabeth Radiator, in PA.
He has cleaned and coated over 1000 tanks during his career, and several for me. He's the best!! The tank has a few dents, but it is excellent inside. The paint still looks fairly good.

I was going to clean the carb and try to start it, but I didn't have the time. So I brought it to the local experts. West Side Cycles. They rebuilt the carb. Did points and a plug.
Adjusted the timing, re-worked the oil injection system, adjusted the clutch, new battery, some wiring and so on. Result is an easy starting good running classic.
The green and silver original paint, original wheels, original seat with the passenger perch, motor, exhaust are in good but not great condition. Working ignition switch with key.
Forks seals are tight, no leaks.

I have a clear title and the original Riders Manual.

The down side; dents in tank, rusty here and there, chain guard very rusty, exhaust pipe has surface rust but is very solid. No dash panel or speedo. Ignition switch is zip tied on.
Missing a rear directional, small tear in rear of seat. Chrome on rims has some pitting but not actually too bad. Ignition switch is zip tied in place. Tail light lens is broken. I will include another tail light assembly, the lens is cracked but better than the one on the bike. The handlebars and grips are not original. Actual mileage unknown.

This is a great example of Vintage Yamaha. Excellent two tone paint. Scratched up and dented, Rescued not Restored. I rode it around, fun, easy to start and enjoy.

Buyer is responsible for pickup of motorcycle. However, AFTER the bike is paid for, I can assist in shipping.
Please e-mail me with any questions. Thanks for looking.
