You are bidding on a nice 1972 Yamaha 175 CT-2 Enduro. This bike is a very clean original with 3440 miles. Has been well kept and cared for, no disappointments. Comes with a brand new, clean, NOS gas tank, installed. New rear sprocket and chain. No dents anywhere on the bike. Runs well and lots of fun to ride. Seat has been recovered. The tires are old and need to be replaced. All the chrome is shiny and rust free. Speedometer and Tachometer work properly, Headlight and tail light work properly, but will need a new headlight switch. Take a look at the pictures, they are the best description of the bike. Any questions, ask before you bid. Payment in Full is due within 3 days after the end of auction, by Cashier's Check or Cash. Pickup or shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and must be completed within 5 days of the end of auction unless prior arrangements are made. I will not personally ship or transport the bike. What you are watching is a highlight of Mike Hailwood's segment from the racing documentary Take it to the Limit - A Motorcycle Odyssey. The Yamaha - built by the extraordinary Kel Carruthers - that Hailwood is riding in the clip featured a unique frame with the camera housed within. The voice-over recording provided by Hailwood was done by taping a small mic to the bottom of his lip so he could dictate his guide to the 37.73 mile route.

Prior to arriving at Laguna Seca for this weekend’s MotoGP race, nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi made a stop at Yamaha’s U.S. headquarters in Southern California for a meet-and-greet with his fans, and we were there to see The Doctor, along with Tech 3 Yamaha stablemate Bradley Smith, in person. As part of the trip, fans had a chance to participate in a Q&A session with the champ, where Rossi picked 12 questions at random.

Yamaha must “pursue true Yamaha-ness and break out of our old norms” if it hopes to increase profitability, says Hiroyuki Yanagi, the company’s president and chief executive officer. In an open letter released by Yamaha, Yanagi discussed what his company needed to do in order to reach its goal of producing 12 million units this year and collecting 2 trillion yen (US$22.5 billion) in sales. Yanagi’s message offered little in specific details but provided a glimpse of Yamaha’s overall strategy for the next few years.
