Up for sale is a really clean 1993 Yamaha GTS1000. She is almost totally stock, with the only modifications being a Corbin seat and a MRA Touring windscreen. This example has just over 37k miles, and is very clean. Everything works, and runs like a top.
At the heart of this bike, you have the 1000cc Genesis 20 valve motor from the FZR. Retuned for 100 horsepower and 78 ft. lbs. of torque, this thing pulls like a freight train from about 2k rpm, and cruises at freeway speeds at around 5k rpm.
To complete the package, the bike also has fuel injection, anti-lock brakes front and back, and a catalytic converter. The full fairing and the MRA windscreen help keep the rider out of the wind during those long rides.
These bikes were an evolution in front suspension design. Josh Hayes to Test Tech 3 Yamaha M1
Tue, 04 Oct 2011Two-time AMA Superbike Champion Josh Hayes has been invited to test Colin Edwards’ Tech 3 Yamaha YZR-M1 at the MotoGP post-season test. Tech 3 principal Herve Poncharal told MCN Hayes will get to ride a few laps on the Yamaha M1 Nov. 7 at the end of season test at Spain’s Valencia circuit.
Yamaha Files Suit Over Scooter Design
Thu, 05 Apr 2012Yamaha has filed a lawsuit against a pair of Japanese companies alleging their electric scooter copies the design of the Yamaha Gear BX50 scooter. The Yamaha Gear BX50 (pictured left above) is a 50cc four-stroke scooter sold in Japan as a commercial-use model, aimed for small business such as newspaper distributors. Yamaha has been offering the BX50 (and the BX50N variant) since 2007, selling 39,917 units as of December 2011.
