2009 Yamaha Fz6 R, If ever there was the perfect starter bike, this is it. This is a great looking bike that has smooth power from low rpms to rev limit, easy clutch, smooth brakes, and a natural seating position that all add to a great first experience. It was mine, now let it be yours! In an effort to pass along the experience I've left it as stock as possible. There's nothing worse to me than having to fix someone else's poor taste in gaudy accessories or to have to search to find the elusive original parts to make a bike whole again. Instead, I kept it simple. There's a hardwired, fused12v socket for phone/gps charging, and a bar-mount cell holder up top. Tank has protective bra that's perfect for avoiding belt/zipper scuffing. It's still low miles, 6k of the 9k miles spent on 12+hr road trips. Needless to say it's comfortable on both city streets and interstate settings. Fresh synthetic yamalube oil change and wash, chain just tightened. No scratches, never dropped, exactly like I bought it. Garage kept. Title in hand. Get in touch to take a look! Think You’re a Smooth Rider? Yamaha’s SmartRiding App Will Prove It
Fri, 04 Oct 2013Yamaha has released a new app that records and evaluates riding habits. The free Yamaha SmartRiding app (available now in the App store) uses the Apple devices sensors to measure basic telemetry to evaluate how smoothly you handle curves. The app requires the device to be firmly fixed to the motorcycle in either a vertical or horizontal arrangement (the app is compatible with iPhones, iPods and iPads, though I’m not sure how many people will mount a tablet to their motorcycle).
US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011
Tue, 09 Oct 2012Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
2013 LA Calendar Motorcycle Show Report
Mon, 22 Jul 2013The 22nd edition of the annual LA Calendar Motorcycle Show marked its return to the Queen Mary Seawalk Village in Long Beach, California with hometown boy Sam Baldi taking the Bike Building Championship’s Best of Show trophy with a Jimmy Todorovith/Profile Cycles built Big Twin custom named “Lost Angel.” This year’s Calendar Show showcased not only top builders but selected vendors and exhibitors, and of course the Calendar Girl Music live performances. And as always, this year’s show celebrated the world premiere of the 2014 FastDates.com Motorcycle PinUp Calendars, featuring the world’s top SBK World Superbikes, sport and cafe bikes, and custom motorcycles with the beautiful Calendar Kittens. On hand throughout the day to meet with fans and pose for pictures were Calendar Kittens Apple Price, together with official SBK World Superbike grid girls Jessica Harbour and singer/songwriter Sarah Horvath.
