Yamaha FZ description

Up for sale is a 2008 Yamaha FZ1.  Graphite Gray with 6,714 miles.  Adult owned.  Never dropped, never down, garage stored and responsibly ridden.  Bike is in excellent condition with a clear title.

Bike shows minimal signs of wear.  Aside from light scuffing on the mirror and left radiator guard from storage (pictures attached), it is immaculate.

Everything on the bike is stock with the exception of a Delkevic Carbon Slip-On (short can), a Fender Eliminator Kit, and Rear Indicators.  I still have the original silencer, fender, and indicators that can be included in the sale should potential buyers be interested in the OEM parts.

I put in new oil, a new oil filter, and a new battery just prior to listing.  The bike is ready to ride.

This is a very versatile machine.  It is an excellent street bike as is, can be fitted with panniers as a tourer, and can do track days with ease.  It is also worth noting that the insurance premiums on this bike are much more affordable than that of the supersports.  For me, this was a very pleasant surprise, considering its power.

Having previously owned a ZX6-R and an R6, this has been my favorite bike.  It has Yamaha's powerful R1 motor, but tuned for low end torque and midrange power.  Paired with the comfortable ergonomics, this makes for an excellent bike for street riding.  Not once did my wrists become uncomfortable.  It is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a sportbike but is apprehensive about their uncomfortable riding position.

As stated, it is in excellent condition.  Pictures do not do it justice.  It has that beautiful "naked" sportbike look and the exhaust is deep and throaty.  It looks and sounds great.

I am happy to answer any questions, so do not hesitate to ask.

Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick up or shipping.  Immediate deposit of $500 required (PayPal), with the remainder to be paid by Cashier's Check or Certified Check upon pickup.

Bike is for sale locally.  I reserve the right to remove this listing at anytime.

Today, Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, has announced its U.S. road racing teams to compete in the 2013 GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Racing season, which kicks off in March at the famed Daytona International Speedway.  Superbike In the AMA Pro National Guard Superbike division, Yamaha is fielding “Team Josh,” as three-time and defending class champion, Josh Hayes once again teams up with Josh Herrin, the 2012 AMA Rookie of the Year. Despite setting single-season records for the most SuperBike wins, the most consecutive SuperBike wins, and the most SuperBike poles, the elder Josh hasn’t lost any of his competitive fire. During the off-season, Josh signed a two-year contract to stay with Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha because he loves the team and he still feels that he’s got a lot of unfinished business to attend to.

2011 Isle of Man TT Recap

Fri, 10 Jun 2011

The Isle of Man TT usually provides a lot of drama, and this year’s event was no different. John McGuinness, second on the all-time TT wins list, added two more wins to his resume to win the Joey Dunlop Trophy while MotoCzysz once again fell just short of taking the bounty for being the first electric motorcycle team to record a 100 mph lap on the Mountain Course. The 2011 Isle of Man TT also had its share of tragedy with three racing fatalities.
