Yamaha FZ description

Up for auction I have my 5005 Yamaha FZ6.

I have been the only owner and rider of the bike since new.  It currently has 51,188 miles on it.  It has been taken very well care of - not abused in any way and regular service done on it at specified intervals.

Has a few upgrades, such as a Top Saddlery seat, Vizi-Tec brake light modulator, 520 chain and sprocket conversion with a DID VX2 chain and Superlite sprockets, and NGK Iridium spark plugs.  Also has a pigtail installed for a Battery Tender.  Other than what is listed the bike is stock.

The chain and sprockets, tires (Michelin Pilot Road 2), and front brake pads (EBC) all have less than 1000 miles on them.

The bottom of the header pipes have a bit of a dent in them from going off a curb I kind of misjudged the height on, but it is not noticeable unless you look underneath the bike.  The plastics have a few scratches here and there befitting a bike 8 years old with over 50,000 miles on it, but no cracks or chips.  The tank is in beautiful condition - no scratches, chips or dents.   The bike runs perfectly and needs nothing - starts first try every time.

I also have a number of spare parts to go with the bike I will throw in, such as a new set of Iridium plugs, various radiator hoses, gaskets, and a few assorted fasteners.  I will also throw in a used Cortech sport saddlebag system.

This is a very nice bike that has given me years of trouble-free service.  I don't think you will be disappointed.

Any questions please feel free to ask.

Yamaha Produces 35th Anniversary Edition SR400 for Japan

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

Yamaha is celebrating the 35th anniversary of its SR series with a special edition model in Japan. Produced in limited numbers, the 35th Anniversary Edition Yamaha SR400 offers an exclusive leaf green metallic color, special badging and, in an unusual gesture, a lower price than the base model. The original SR500 was introduced in 1978 as a street-focused version of the Yamaha XT500.

Callaway Builds Motorcycle Engine

Thu, 20 Nov 2008

Callaway is a name that has become synonymous with Corvettes over the years, and with good reason. However, in addition to unleashing the power of America’s legendary sports car, Reeves Callaway has also done technical and engineering consulting for motorcycle companies such as Yamaha. A few years ago, he showed the world a V16 motor he built using four Yamaha 1,000cc motorcycle engines mounted on a custom fabricated aluminum block.

2015 Yamaha FZ-07 Announced for Canada

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Yamaha announced it would import the MT-07 to Canada as the 2015 FZ-07. Until now, the twin-cylinder roadster had only been announced for Europe as the MT-07; there is no word the FZ-07 will be offered in the U.S., but the Canadian announcement is a good sign it may be coming soon. Revealed at EICMA, the FZ-07 slots in under the three-cylinder FZ-09 (known as the MT-09 outside of the North America) with a newly-developed liquid-cooled 689cc parallel-Twin engine.
