You are bidding on a 1972 Yamaha DT2 MX. This was Yamaha's first true motocross bike.
This is restored using many NOS Yamaha parts. It's not 100% original as I have used some '74 YZ250A parts to upgrade the build. Engine is rebuilt with YZA clutch and clutch cover, 6 pedal reed, 34mm carburator .Still has the points ignition. Wheels have original rims with Bucanan stainless spokes. Fork legs are YZA. Gas tank is a '76 YZ125C alum. modified to fit the DT2 frame and painted DT2 MX colors. All cables NOS Yamaha, NOS levers as well. Most of the hardware is titanium with a few being stock replated. The Althea Ducati racer recorded his second double of the season and now has six wins in ten races. Checa also scored the double in Utah in 2008 when Miller Motorsports Park made its debut on the WSBK calendar.

Produced in limited numbers, the 35th Anniversary Edition Yamaha SR400 offers an exclusive leaf green metallic color, special badging and, in an unusual gesture, a lower price than the base model. The original SR500 was introduced in 1978 as a street-focused version of the Yamaha XT500.
