Yamaha 400cc Moped tech info
Yamaha 400cc Moped description
It looks somewhat similar to a crotch rocket style, but is soooo much more comfortable with back support and foot rests, it's like sitting in your living room with a moving view. haha Local delivery is possible. Because it is a Yamaha, it is very reliable and I have been driving it off and on for about 5 yrs. It is unusual to see a moped/ scooter with an engine this big around Long Island. It weighs about 450 lbs, has an automatic tranny and gets about 45 mpg, but some owners claim it can get up to 60.
It has a push start ignition, 395cc, is liquid-cooled, has DOHC, 4-valve, 4-stroke, single cylinder engine and since it will go up to 85 mph, you can keep up on the highway. It is comparable to the Suzuki Burgman that is much more expensive. Heres a webpage that will give a fair overview of my Superscooter: motorscooterguide.net/Yamaha/Majesty/Majesty.html I will describe a few issues in the next two paragraphs, but that is why it is so much cheaper than others are selling the same model for on Craigslist. You can compare by just typing in Yamaha Majesty. Their bikes sound like they're in better condition, but they are not local and are likely just not being as upfront with you as I am. The seat has a few rips and doesn't lock, but since it closes all the way, I've never had a problem. The storage capacity under the seat is more than almost any other bike; it will fit two full face helmets and I have fit my groceries and carried my laundry and even a 50 in flatscreen tv on the passenger seat with bungee cords. I can give you two helmets if you need them The V belt will need changing in the next year or two, but the part only cost $50 on ebay. It drives great and is fast. The kickstand is having an issue, but is operable. The taillight went out, but you can get another with LEDs and a few missing pieces of plastic on ebay cheap. I brought it up from FL a year ago and replaced the back tire and brake caliper. It has recently been painted and I need to finish touching it up. I can change the oil with filter and transmission fluid before sale if you want or will just give you the supplies. The battery is almost new too. I am moving back south soon and can't take it with my car. FL insurance on the bike is only about $10 a month. You can testdrive it if you let me hold your license while you take it up the block to get a feel for it. |
