Grading and Condition

All records are visually graded, there are too many to play grade. Check the information in the item listing which may expand or qualify the grade shown, but consider the following:-
Vinyl 'NM' is our highest grade, and means that the LP is close to pristine. (New, sealed issues are described as 'NM')
Vinyl 'EX' (also known as VG+) is clean. Minimal defects. Maybe a few light marks, or fingernail marks, or visible scuffs, which do not really impair audio quality. If there are several of these defects present then the record will be relegated to a 'VG'
Vinyl 'VG' - surface marks, light scratches which will not seriously impair listening, but may be clearly present during playing.
Vinyl 'G' - visible and / or audible shortcomings, so don't expect too much.
Cover 'NM'- new or nearly as new
Cover 'EX'- Defects may be one or two of the following:- Some visible rubbing, loss of gloss, slight discoloration of white sections, small spine wear, small label tears. If there several of these defects then the cover will be relegated to a 'VG'
Cover 'VG'- Larger seam splits, surface tears after removal of price tags, heavier ring wear.
Cover 'G'-Some cardboard to put a record in, and that's about it !

Record Breaking Vincent Black Shadow Is Top Seller At Bonhams Auction

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

A fully restored, ex-works 1952 Vincent Black Shadow was the top selling motorcycle at the Bonhams auction, held at the International Classic Motorcycle Show at the Staffordshire County Showground on Sunday, April 28, selling for £113,500 (US $176,341 after premiums). This Black Shadow was part of the factory’s bid to set a new 24-hour speed record at Montlhéry in France in May 1952. Mechanical troubles prevented that from happening, but the team still came away with eight records, including six hours at over 100 mph.

Nigerian King’s Rudge Multi, Plus Many Other Rare Motorcycles, For Sale At Bonhams Auction

Thu, 22 May 2014

The upcoming Bonhams Banbury Run Sale is set to be a motorcycle enthusiast’s dream, with 102 lots of iconic bikes available to the highest bidder. Within the sale, an intriguing duo of Brough Superiors will be offered for auction from a family synonymous with motorcycles for generations – Myerscough. The motoring history behind the Myerscough family began in 1893 when Leonard Myerscough opened a business repairing and selling bicycles, followed by motorcycles and automobiles. At the peak of this business, five locations serviced the Liverpool area under the banner L Myerscough & Sons Ltd. Encouraged by his father, the eldest son, Len Jr, took up dirt track racing in the late 1920s, enjoying success as a contracted team rider for both the Belle Vue Aces and Preston teams from 1928 to 1931.

Behind the “Bathing Suit” Picture

Fri, 09 Jan 2009

Few motorcycle photographs are as iconic as that of the famous Bonneville “Bathing Suit Picture.” While you have undoubtedly seen this image before, you may not know the story behind it. The scantily clad and debatably crazy rider was a man by the name of Roland “Rollie” Free. The bike, often thought by many to be a Vincent Black Shadow, was in fact a Black Lightning – the fastest Vincent ever to see production.
