About Vento

Vento was a motorcycle, scooter and ATV manufacturer from the United States. The name of the company originated from the Italian word that means "wind". The company was founded 4 years before the new millennium in Mexico, in 1996. They assembled the motorcycles from parts which came from Italy, China, Japan and Taiwan. Some of the suppliers also sold parts to Harley-Davidson.

Two years later, in 1998, an assembly and quality control plant was officially opened in Laredo, Texas. The primary goal was to elevate the quality of their products in order to better compete with the rivals. All of the motorcycle components were shipped to Laredo where they were assembled on site.

Vento's headquarters, were located in San Diego, California, where different operations varying from product design and development to customer support took place. Vento's sales were organized in the United States through a network of more than 150 official dealers in more than 30 states. The total number of units sold in the United States in 2003 was 17,840 units. A total of 77,600 Vento motorcycles were sold the same year in Chile, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Russia combined. (Includes Highway Motorcycles, Scooters, Utility and ATVs). Vento sells more small-displacement two-wheel vehicles in Mexico than the best-selling Japanese motorcycle giants (such as Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda and Kawasaki) combined.
