For sale is my Tiger 800 XC. One of the best Adventure bikes around that I've owned since it had 1,000 miles on the clock - now just shy of 12,000 miles. Engine is a Triumph triple cylinder that is smooth as butter.
Bike does great on the interstate and is also fun to ride off pavement on fire roads and forest service roads of AZ. The bike is currently set up for that kind of riding with 60/40 (or maybe 70/30 on the front) tires. Also has the following: Adventure Spec bash plate (skid plate) ROX handlebar risers Givi pannier racks Triumph factor engine bars SW Motech luggage rack Uni air pre-filter Fuse box installed under the seat if you want to add more powered accessories Bike runs perfect with no issues. The maintenance minder "wrench" is on (see picture) because I do do most of my maintenance myself and I don't have a way to reset it like the Dealer does. Has some scratches on it you can see in the pics (mostly upper right fairing and exchaust/heat shield and hand guards) from the handful of slow-speed drops (all off-pavement) that I've had. That happens sometimes when you ride it like it was intended. It handles great off-pavement for a big adventure bike. If you go to You Tube and copy this text into the search "anEtOYVlHyo", it will bring up a video I put together of me riding the bike on the back road to Crown King here in Arizona. I'm selling because I bought a bigger bike. I still owe on the bike, so at the time of the sale you'll get the bike and when I get the title from the bank I'll send that as well. No international sales. Buyer pays all shipping costs. I may be able to assist (i.e. - meet you part way, pick up at the airport, etc.) $500 deposit due at purchase. The story behind the bikes in the video starts after Buddy Holly, Joe Mauldin and Jerry Allison came back from a successful tour in 1958, flush with cash. The trio decided to spend their rock and roll dollars on brand new motorcycles.
2014 Triumph America Horizon Revealed in CARB Documentation
Mon, 18 Mar 2013New documents released by the California Air Resources Board reveal the existence of a new model from Triumph to be called the America Horizon for the 2014 model year. As its name implies, the 2014 Triumph America Horizon will likely be based on the existing Triumph America (the 2012 America is pictured above with touring accessories as an illustration.) The CARB documents confirm it will use the same 865cc parallel-Twin engine as the America as well as the Bonneville, Scrambler, Thruxton and the Speedmaster. We predict a claimed output of 60hp at 6800rpm and 53 ft-lb.
